Dear colleagues,

Starting now, for the gendrive engines S1600, low load operation is allowed as follows:

Step Period [h] Load[%]

1 ≤12 Engine idle @
Generatorspeed
(50Hz : 1500 rpm;
60 Hz : 1800 rpm)
2 ≥1 ≥60%
Number of cycles: unlimited

Conditions:
Coolant temperature ( engine outlet to cooling system ) between 80°C and 95°C.

Notice:
For further validation, MTU wants to collect field experiences with this type of usage. Engines which will operated
constantly in the described cycle have to be monitored (lube analyses all 500h, noticeable problems at
maintenance, visual inspection regarding liquid leakages ).

For further information and before setting up the first project, please contact your sales engineer or application
engineering GenDrive.

With best regards,
