PRAYER FOR SALVATION Leonard & Clethel Champion

Our Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of
Jesus. Your Words says, “...if thou shalt confess
with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
THOU SHALT BE SAVED” (Roman 10:9). I
believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He
was raised from the dead for my justification. Your Word says,
“...with the HEART man believeth unto righteousness; and with the
MOUTH confession is made unto salvation” (Roman 10:10). I do
believe with my heart, and I now confess with my mouth that Jesus is
my Lord, therefore, I am saved! Thank You Lord! Amen
If you have prayed this prayer sincerely from your heart, then the Bible
says you are saved! To grow in your new Christian life, it is important
to study the Bible and pray every day to your Heavenly Father. You
also need to belong to a good, Bible-based church where you are
taught the Word of God. Welcome to the family of God!

chocolate chip cookies. Using a modified version of his
Aunt Della's recipe, he planned to open the first
freestanding cookie store. With financial backing from
singers like Gaye and an innovative marketing initiative,
which included an extensive advertising campaign and a
gala grand opening, the first Famous Amos store opened
on Sunset Boulevard in 1975. Within months, Amos
opened two more West Coast franchises, while the New
York-based Bloomingdale's department store also began
selling the gourmet cookies.

Amos and his cookie empire enjoyed a decade of

success. However, in 1985, mismanagement forced
Amos to gradually sell off parts of his company. In

9 Ways To Eat More Fruits & Veggies

6. Add vegetables to pasta. Use olive oil to sauté

essential fiber, vitamins,
and minerals that work to
protect you from a variety
of chronic diseases and maintain
your digestive health. So how
many fruits and vegetables do
you need to eat each day for
optimal health, and how can you easily incorporate
more into your diet?
Here are 9 tips to help meet your daily goals for fruits
and vegetables:
1. Try it raw. Not only are raw vegetables tasty for you,
it's typically easier to get children to eat vegetables raw.
Try serving vegetables at the start of a meal, when kids
are hungriest and less likely to reject them; you can
offer them with a low-fat dip to add flavor. Then enjoy
some yourself.
2. Eat fiber-filled fruit with breakfast. It's easy to
include fruit in the morning. Slice a variety of fruits, like
peaches, plums, nectarines, and various berries to add
to cold or cooked cereal or to top French toast, waffles,
or pancakes instead of syrup. If you like yogurt in the
morning, make a parfait by layering assorted cut-up
fruit with yogurt and a high-fiber cereal. If you don’t
have time for a sit-down breakfast, grab a handful of
grapes or an apple to take with you.

a bag of frozen berries or broccoli. Using frozen fruits
and veggies is a great option for out-of-season produce
— they’ve been processed within an hour of harvesting,
so the flavor and nutritional value are usually well
preserved. If you’re purchasing frozen produce that
includes sauce, look for a low-fat, low-calorie option —
or better yet, buy frozen produce with no sauce and
season it yourself.
With a little ingenuity, you can enjoy a variety of fruits
and vegetables to keep your diet interesting and
healthy every day.

3. Make your own yogurt toppers. Top low-fat or fat-

free yogurt with fresh berries and low-fat or fat-free
granola for breakfast.

4. Excite your eggs. Add chopped vegetables like

mushrooms and peppers to omelets or egg scrambles.

5. Switch “sides.” Skip the greasy fries and choose corn

on the cob, a tossed salad, or a high-fiber bean medley.
Or grill a batch of vegetables, such as eggplant, peppers,
onions, and mushrooms, or fruits, like pineapple,
peaches, bananas, and apples. They’re good hot or cold.

From Our Daily Bread Cookbook

Squash Casserole
By Emma Jean Wilder

INGREDIENTS
2 ½ lbs. yellow squash
4 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 eggs (beaten)
½ cup evaporated milk (undiluted)
1 cup grated cheese
1 cup coarse Ritz cracker crumbs

DIRECTIONS
Wash squash and cut into ½ inch slices. Cook covered on medium heat in small amount of
boiling salt water. Drain. Mash with fork into coarse pieces. Add beaten eggs, margarine,
milk, cheese and cracker crumbs (save some cracker crumbs and cheese for topping). Place
in well greased casserole dish and top with additional cracker crumbs and cheese. Bake at
325 degrees for 30 minutes.

Upside Down Pizza

INGREDIENTS
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small onion (chopped)
1 8 oz. can refrigerated crescent rolls
1 16 oz. jar spaghetti sauce
2 cup shredded cheese

DIECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degree. Brown beef and onion in large saucepan. Once
brown, drain fat and stir in spaghetti sauce. In a 9 x 13 baking dish, spread
a layer of sauce. Top with half the cheese. Add another layer of sauce and
the rest of the cheese. Top with crescent rolls. Bake in preheated oven for 20
to 30 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.
