Undergraduates applicants don't need to attach transcripts. Postgraduates applicants (Who
cant get their transcript by hand) should request from their school to forward their transcript to
FSB Office. You can complete your application successfully without uploading documents that
aren't (*). If your school doesn't give transcripts by hand and you want to forward it to the
board, here's the address. *(Not Compulsory yet though)*

The Director,

FEDERAL SCHOLARSHIP BOARD

PLOT 245 SAMUEL ADEMULEGUN STREET, CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT,

ABUJA, NIGERIA

Additional Tips For Applicants

 Ensure all passport photograph is taken in white background.

 Ensure all documents are properly scanned.
 You can attach your signature by signing on a plane white piece of paper and scanning it.
 Please note, you are to report to the venue based on your state of origin, not residency.
E.g. if you're from Osun state and you live in Ebonyi State, you can't write your exams
there. You have to go to the south west region (Oyo state) to write your exam/interview.
 For the study plan, you can try to make a good and captivating statement. Of about one or
two paragraphs. Eg. I plan to study forensic science so as to improve the state of policing in
the country and adequately utilize my skill in Nigeria upon completion of my programme.
Hence, significantly establishing the guilt or innocence of potential suspects, linking crimes,
which establishes the patterns of crimes and also narrows the number of probable suspects.
Hereby reducing the number of unsolved criminal cases in Nigeria, and reducing the
number of criminals in our cities. This is a sample I formulated for forensics science. (This
isn't my course though). Disclaimer: Not all study plans are like this though. This is just a
format.

Tips on How Scholars are Selected

 Let me tell everybody secrets of bea scholarship for UG applicants today, so, you'll know
your chances and get prepared more. The whole selection process is based on 100% marks.
Your waec will be 60 marks, the interview test is 40 questions, hence 40 marks.
60+40=100.
 How will my waec produce 60 marks?
 That's simple. The apex waec grade is a1 then B2, B3, C4... etc.
 So, If you have a1 in chemistry, that's 12 marks, if you have B2 that's 10 marks, if you have
B3 that's 8 marks.....and so on.
 They will consider only your 5 subjects including English and Maths. So if you are lucky to
have all a1, that means 5 a1's, then 12x5=60! If you are Albert Einstein and you pass the
test 40/40 that's 100%.....Scholarship direct!
 Let me illustrate further. For Science Applicant, they'll consider English, Maths, Chem, Pzics
and Biology. So assume this is your result:
 English=B3, Chemistry=B3, Physics=A1, Bio=A1, Maths=C4.
 So it means 8+8+12+12+6 which will give 46. When you take the test and score 30: that
means 46+30=76%. Unless if there several gurus who applied from your state, with this
score you have 95% chance to be called. (The remaining 5% lies on you providing required
documents)
 Note1: sometime you'll have all docs and score big, but still not called, that simply means
there are several gurus from your state who applied or you didn't meet one crucial
criterion.
 Note2: Normally, the host state (where the test take place) and have high applicants, so if
the test is in your state this year, your chances are slim, nonetheless, don't loose faith.
 Note3: failure to provide one of the compulsory (*) document is almost similar to not
applying, even if you score well.
 For PG applicants,
 First Class: 50marks; 2nd Class Upper: 40 marks; Others: 0

10
BEA Scholarship Guide by @ademolavictor
 Exam: 50 marks
 So if you have first class and score 40 in the exam. That's 90%.
You'll probably get the scholarship.
 So, everybody can use the above analysis to analyse his/her result and read hard to score
big in the test. Wish all Bros and Sis Success.

Quotes from a beneficiary of FSB scholarship

Snow30: “You guys will first do a written interview, the fsb exam..it carries 40 marks, 40
questions.... it is very easy, at least it was to me.. maths, english, i.c.t and current affairs.... to
get a good shot at being nominated by fsb especially from those from competitive states, you
need to.score at least 35/40 in this exam... if you pass and you are nominated by fsb you will
have another oral interview which will decide your fate, with the russians..they will be the
ones to do the final selection.

Oh and yes, the fsb exam carries 40 marks your waec carries 60 marks, from that fsb will
nominate the best from each state...thus none of that matters to the russians......this is jist
for fsb nomination.... basically, Russia needs only 60 people from Nigeria (i don't know if slots
have been increased this year), so there fore fsb will nominate 120 people using this exam
and the waec..from which Russia will do the final picking, Russia does the final picking not fsb
so there is no wayo involved, atleast at the final stage... so as i said, 120 people will be picked
by fsb from the battalion of people that will apply for Russia... So your competition at this
stage is with people from your state....from.each stage fsb will.nominate the best 3
candidates while some more competitive or special states may get 4 or 5, depends on
fsb...but no.less than 3 people i guess... so do your best and good luck...(that does not mean
on that day of exam you shouldn't help.others, trust me it's by helping others that you will
find and correct your own mistakes..if you are on your own you won't find your mistakes
easily)

I am saying all these, cause during my time, i knew nothing about all of these, and these were
questions that kept on ringing in my head, but i got no answers... i hope these helps
someone...good luck

Note: this is for Russia, those for Hungary will follow a different process after the fsb exam,
also for China, algeria and morroco will follow different processes”

11
BEA Scholarship Guide by @ademolavictor
Well, if you have a good result, you have a very good chance, right now you don't need your
waec certificate, your statement of result will suffice. But try to get it before the oral
interview, which will be in April/late March for Russian applicants, those that passed the
exam and were nominated.....it will save you a lot of stress, because for me i didn't even have
mine during the oral interview, it was by God's grace that during September the Russian govt
still called me asked me to submit it because i had veen selected...so who knows if they will
still be kind this way again....all the same good luck...

Waec carries 60 marks and thr exam carries 40 marks all together is 100
A1=12
B2=10
B3=8
C4=6
C5=4
C6=2
D7,E8,F9=0

Now it is tricky, your waec result is very crucial carries more weight than the exam...but even
if you have 60 marks in your waec and you fail your exam, let's say 25/40 or lower, you might
not be selected because, the exam is so easy that they will think thwt you cheated in your
waec result..... if you score very high in the exam maybe 40/40 and you have a very low waec,
maybe all Cs, few Bs and plenty Ds..they won't also select you, because the host country will
definetely still reject you and of course your waec is bad...the host country uses your
waec.....so if ypu want a good shot, your waex must be okay or good and score at least 35/40
in the exam

But another issue is, everything determines on the people from your state....if you score
85/100, and 10 other people score 90/100...am sorry but you know what it means.... so that
is why try as much as possoble to do very well in your exam... your exam will decide you,
because you can't change your waec result ....what is done is done

Practice Questions and Answers

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow it:

Whenever I told people that I was going to the psychiatric Hospital, many of them look at my
face with some kind of suspicion or sympathy. At least that was the message that I read from
their faces.

I understood suspicion to mean that they might be troubled or worried if I had some psychiatric
problem myself concerning the concept of sympathy, they might have thought that I had a
patient that I went there to see or visit. How on earth they thought that way baffled me! In
reality, the hospital was built for the care of people with some kind of psychiatric problem or
another. Did it mean, then that all persons that one found in the hospital in any given time had
psychiatric problem? Or, could someone not go to the place for things other than seeking
psychiatric assistance?

What might be responsible for this kind of attitude was the lack of education or precisely, good

Education. After all, education could help people to differentiate their right from the left hand.
What such people might have done was to request to know what one was going there to do.
Such a request would have solved the suspicion and sympathy problems.
