Writing (10-12 minutes) • To provide SS with an opportunity to use target language by

writing about a place of their choice

Context: SS to think of their hometown or a town, village or city they like very much - imagine
you live there and want to invite your best friend to visit - write a letter to your best friend,
telling him or her about the place and why it is a good idea to visit - Paragraph 1: What's the
name? Where is it? Is it big/small? - Paragraph 2: What is it famous for? / What is special about
it? / What can visitors do? - Paragraph 3: Does it have any problems? - Paragraph 4: What do
you like best about it?

Depending on timing, SS can go around the class room and read a few of the letters. Otherwise,
SS can volunteer to tell the class about the place they wrote about. Final feedback.
