ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to show the demand and preference on paper

charcoal for food establishments at Barangay Kamuning Quezon City. The researchers

have identified the profile of the respondents which are ihaw-ihaw vendors and grill

restaurants, by their occupation, sex, age, and their duration of the business operation.

And also, they determined the respondent’s perception of the paper charcoal product.

The researchers used questionnaires as a tool for collecting data. The

respondents of the study are 83 individuals of mixed ihaw-ihaw vendors and grill

restaurants located in Barangay Kamuning, Quezon City. The data gathering procedure

was conducted by giving it personally. The researchers used Percentage Distribution to

use in the computation of the demographic profile of the respondents to compute every

criterion.

The researchers concluded that along with 83 respondents, is that the business

is gradually expanding for the business owners that were hiring more employees. The

respondents also appreciate the unfamiliar product which is the paper charcoal product

that is being introduced to them. The respondents also stated that when it comes to the

potential marketing of the paper charcoal product it should be introduced at

marketplaces in which the product will be conveniently sold at varying prices that the

customers would want.

The researchers also recommended that the ihaw-ihaw vendors and grill

restaurants to conduct the use of paper charcoal which is more affordable and also

beneficial to the environment. Also, the researchers recommended that the barangay
officials to render seminars about paper charcoal products as a new marketing product

for those who are looking into potential income that they can gain from.
