In order to find silk flowers small enough you may need to buy larger flowers that are made up of many tiny flowers. Wedding departments will have beautiful small white and off white flowers. See photos and individual patterns for colors. when making the bouquets for the pincushions, cut the stems short, place most of the flowers facing for- ward, then place just a flower or two with very short stems on the back to cover stems of the other flow ers. When pleased with arrangement (see photos), hot glue the flowers together, then attach to pin- cushion BASIC CIRCLE Base Rnd 1: With 4 ply yarn and F hook, ch 2, 6 se in 2nd ch from hook. Fasten off (36 sts) Sides Rnd 1: With black, join with sl st in back loop of st where, you just fastened off, ch 2, working in back loops only for this rnd, hde in each st around, skip ch 2, join with sl st in top of first hde. Slide cardboard citcle in and finish closing bottom. Bottom Rim Rnd 1: SI st in back loop of next st of last rnd, ch 3, dc in each back loop around, join with sl st in top of ch 3. Fasten off Rnd 2: With black join with sl st in a remaining loop behind last md, ch 2, hdc in each remaining loops around, skip ch 2, join with sl st in first hdc Fasten off. Rnd 3: With black sl st Rnd | and Rnd 2 together, join. Fasten off. Striped Side Piece Row 1: With black yarn and F hook, ch 12, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, ch 1 turn. (11 sc) Row 2: Working in back loops only for remainder of piece, sc in each sc across, leave last 2 loops on hook on last st, drop black yarn and pull through bright pink yarn, ch I, turn, (11 sc) Row 3: With pink yarn, sc in each sc across, ch 1, tur, Row 4: Sc in each sc across, leave last 2 loops on hook on last st, drop pink yarn and pull through black yarn, ch 1, turn. Do not change col- ors on last row. Fasten off leaving 18" tail Thread tail in yarn needle. With back side of last row facing you, fold piece so remaining loops of Row | are on top of last row, whip st remaining loops of Row 1 and back loops of Row 72 together (front loops fall between sts of row 1 and row 72 to form ridge on the other side). Knot to secure. Turn right side out ‘Top Edge: With black, sc in end of every other row around, join. Fasten off leaving 20" tail. (36 sc). Bottom Edge: Repeat Top Edge. Fill inside of piece just made lightly with fiberfll. Do not overstulff. Thread tail in needle and slip striped piece over pincushion base and whip st back loops of bottom edge to a row of remaining loops above Bottom Rim. Whip stitch back loops of ‘Top Edge to remaining loops around top of pin- cushion, Small 6 Petal Flower (Make 3 white with gold centers, 2 purple with gold centers, | rose with gold center, and I yellow with gold center) Center: Ch 4, sI st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, 12 sc in ring, join with sl st in first sc, Fasten off. Petals: Join with sl st in any st on last md, (ch 3, 4 dc in next sc, drop loop from hook and insert in top of first tr, draw dropped loop through, ch 3, sl st in next sc) 6 times, ending with sI st in first sl st Fasten off Large Flower (Make | raspberry with gold center, 1 periwinkle with gold center, 1 lilac with gold cen- ter) Center Base Rnd 1: Ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join any md unless told to do so. 2) .c in each sc arount Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next) around, sl st in next. (18) Joining Top to Base: With wrong sides facing each other you will be working through one loop of Base and one loop of Top. (SI st through back loop of Top and top loop of Base) around, stuffing with a little fiber fil before completely closing opening, join. Fasten off. Fasten off Pin flowers and leaves to green dome above vase. Place flowers and leaves so dome is completely covered, overlapping some. When pleased with arrangement, hot glue in place. Use as little glue as possible because pins will not go through the glue. TEAPOT Materials: One ounce of It green 4 ply yam, small amounts of bright pink, and gold, 3 large rose col- ored ribbon roses, 6 small pink ribbon roses, fiber- fill, dried beans, F hook. Bottom Piece: With It green work Rnds 1-6 of Basic Circle (after Rnd 5 lay circle on piece of cardboard, draw around and cut circle out. Lay aside for later), afler Rnd 6, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in next. Fasten off leaving long tail. Thread tail in yarn nee dle. Stitch handle to teapot between 2 ridge rows, Spout Base Rnd 1: With pink and E hook, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook, do not join mds unless told to do so. Rnd 2: (2 sc in next sc) 6 times. See photo Gold Trim With gold yarn and F hook, ch 3, dc in 3rd ch from hook, (ch 3, de between last dc and ch 3 being sure to pull de to same height as ch 3) 18 times. This should reach around lid as shown in photo. Add repetitions if necessary. Tack or glue to lid. Flower Knob: Work small 6 petal flower from Vase of Flowers pincushion in bright pink with gold cen- ter. Tack or glue to top of teapot. Glue ribbon roses as shown in photo. CHAIR Materials: dounces of It aqua (or It blue) 4 ply yarn, small amount of black 4 ply yarn, small amount of It purple and rose baby yam, white and soft pastel silk flowers, 2 large pink ribbon roses, 1 small pink rib- bon rose, dried beans, F and E hooks, yarn needle Base First Circle: With It aqua work Rnds 1-5 of Basic Circle. Draw around on a piece of cardboard, lay cardboard circle aside, Repeat Rnd 6 of Basic Circle, sc in next 3, sl st in next st. Fasten off. (36 sts) Second Circle: Work Rnds 1-6 of Basic Circle, sc in next 3, sl st in next st, do not fasten off, but continue with sides. (36 sts) Sides Rnd 1: Ch 2, hdc in back loop of next 36 sts around, join with si st in top of first hdc (skipping the ch 2). (36 sts) Rnds 2-6: Ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, join with sl st in top of first hdc (skipping the ch 2). (36 sts) SI st back loops of last row and first base piece together half way around base piece, fill with dried beans slip cardboard circle in, sl st remainder of base and sides together. Fasten off. This is the bot- tom of the base. Top of Base should be flat not rounded or cushion won't lay right. Arm Row 1: With F hook and It aqua yarn, ch 23, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, ch 1, tum. (22 sc) Work all remaining rows in this piece in back loops only. Row 2-9: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. Front Row 10: Sc in first 8 sc, skip last 14 sts, ch 1, tum, Row 11-26: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. At end of Row 26 fasten off. Second Arm Row 27: Ch 14, with wrong side of last row facing you, sc in each st across, ch 1, tur. Row 28: Sc in next 8 sc, sc in next 14 chs, ch | turn Rows 29-36: Sc in cach sc across, Fasten off after Row 36. Fasten off. Turn so this last seam is on inside of chair. Back Piece Row 1: Ch 23, sc in 2nd ch from hook, se in each, ch across, ch 1, turn, (22 sc} Rows 2-17: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn, Fasten off at end of last row. Back Trim: Place Back Piece behind Back of chair matching first 13 remaining loops of chair back (these are the loops on top of a ridge that lines up with chair back) to first 13 sts of Back Piece, with black sc these 2 pieces together, sc next 9 together, sc in remaining 12 sts of Chair Back, ch | working across top edge of back, sc in end of each row across, ch 1, sc in next 12 sts (be sure not to skip first st) down other side, sc next 9 sts of chair back and back piece together, continue to sc in next 13 sts along top of ridge to chair back. Fasten off, Trim around Arms and Down Front With front of chair facing you, with black join with #8 st ina St at end of rows between chair back and the arm on the left, si st in each remaining loop up_ side of arm, ch 1, sc in end of each row across arm, ch 1, sl st in back loop of each st down side of arm, continue to SI st in remaining loops on top of ridge down the front to the bottom edge. Fasten off Go to other arm, starting at bottom front edge, sI st in remaining loops on top of ridge on front up to edge of arm, si st in remaining loops up side of arm, ch 1, sc in end of each row across arm, ch 1, si st in each st down other side, Fasten off. Bottom Ruffle: With It aqua yarn, join with hde in end of a row at bottom of center back (work through only one layer on back, ch 1, hdc in same st, ch 1, in end of each row around work ¢hdc, ch 1 hide, ch'1), join with sl st in first hde. Fasten oft ‘Trim: With black, s! st loosely at base of each hdc group of ruffle. Fasten off. At top of front piece, with It aqua join with sl st in end of row where arm joins, sl st in end of every other row across, Fasten off leaving long 12” tail. Place chair over base, thread tail into yarn needle and whip sl sts across front edge to remaining loops on top edge of Base. Cushion: With It aqua make 3 circles working basic circle Rows 1-6, At end of row 6, sc in next 3 sts, sl st in next. Fasten off. Place first and third circles wrong side together with second circle in between: working through both loops of sts in all 3 circles, with black sl st in each st (through all 3 circles) around, remove hook from last loop, pull loop to back side. Fasten olf, SI st in remaining loops around bottom edge. Fasten off Roll arm pieces down as shown in photo and tack or hot glue in place. Roll top of chair back down ‘over Back Piece as shown in photo. Tack or hot glue in place. Attach cushion to chair with a dot of hot glue. Small Cushion (With rose baby yarn and 0 hook, ch 4, sl st to form ring, ch 3, work 13 de in ring, join with sl st in top of ch 3, Fasten off) twice Place circles wrong sides together, with It purple baby yam, sl st outer loops of circles together. Fasten off. Place cushion in corner of chait. Secure with small dot of glue. Doilie_ Work Doilie from Purple and Red pincush- ion using It purple baby yarn and 0 hook. Arrange flowers on one side at top of chair and down side. See photo and basic instruction for small flower bouquets. PINK SWIRL Materials: Two ounces of TLC Essentials Powder Pink 4 ply yarn, small amount of TLC Essentials Plush White or 4 ply white yarn, small amount of white Red Heart Soft Baby yarn, Small white and very pale pink silk flowers, It pink ribbon rose, (white ribbon flowers on model from bridal depart ment), dried beans; fiberfill, F, G and E hooks, yarn needle. Bottom Piece: With Powder Pink 4 ply yarn and F hook work Rnds 1-4 of Basic Circle, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in next. Fasten off. Lay circle on piece of cardboard, draw around and cut circle out. Lay aside for later Top of Pincushion Rnds 1-4: With Plush White and G hook (if using 4 ply use F hook), work Rnds 1-4 of Basic Circle Rnd 5: Sc in each sc around. (24 sc) Then sc in next 3 sc, s} st in next. Fasten off Side of Cushion Rnd 1: With powder pink and F hook, join with hdc in back loop Of st where you just fastened off, ‘working in back loops only for this rnd, hdc in each st around, skip ch 2, join with sl st in top of first hde, (24 hde) Rnds 2-6: Ch 2, hdc in each st around, skip ch 2, join with sl st in top of first hde, (24 hdc) Finishing: Stuif top third of cushion with fiber fill, (sl st through back loop of last row of pincushion and one loop of bottom piece) for half way around bottom, fill remainder of cushion with dried beans Slide cardboard circle in and finish closing bottom Do not fasten off Bottom Rim: Sc in each sl st around (24), then sl st in each sc around. Fasten off Swirled Side Piece Row 1: With powder pink and F hook, ch 18, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch, ch 1 turn, (17 sc) Row 2: Working in back loops only for remainder of this piece, 2 sc in very first sc, sc in next 14, sc last 2 sts together as one, ch I, turn, (23 sc) Row 3: Skip very first sc, sc in next 15 sc, 2 sc in last sc (this last st tends to hide at end of row), ch 1, tum. (17 sc). Be sure to always count your sts 0 each row always has 17 sts Rows 4-48: Repeat Rows 2 and 3, ending with a repeat of Row 2. Fasten off at end of Row 48 leav- ing a 18” tail. Thread tail into yarn needle. With back side of Row 48 facing you, fold piece so remaining loops of Row | are on top of last row. Whip stitch remaining loops of Row | and back loops of Row 48 together for length of row. (Front loops of Row 48 fall between sts of Row I and back loops of Row 48 to form ridge on other side.) Knot to secure. Turn right side out. Top Edge: With powder pink and F hook, sc in end of every other row around, join. Fasten off leaving 20" tail, (24 so) Bottom Edge: Repeat Top Edge. Fill inside of piece just made lightly with fiberfill. Do not over stuff. Thread tail and slip side piece over pincushion base and whip st back loops of bottom edge to remaining loops above Bottom Rim. Whip stitch back loops of Top Edge to remaining loops around top of pincushion. Lace Foundation: With powder pink yarn and E hook, (ch 3, de in 3rd ch from hook) 12 times. Fasten off. Row 1: With white sport weight and E hook, join with sl st in same place where you fastened off, (ch 4, sl st at base of next cluster) for length of Foundation, working up other side, (ch 4, sl st between next clusters) for length ending with ch 4, sl st in end of foundation. Row 2: Working in ch 4 loops on other side, (sc in, next ch 4 loop, ch 3, sc in same loop, ch 4, sc in same loop, ch 3, s¢ in same loop) 12 times, sl st in end, Fasten off, Tack or glue around top rim of pincushion. Arrange flowers on side of cushion to cover ends of lace. See basic instructions for flower bouquets. LIGHT TURQUOISE RUFFLED Materials: Two ounces of It turquoise 4 ply yarn, small amount of 4 ply white yarn, white and pastel silk flowers, dried beans, fiber fill, 3” styrofoam ball, hank Bottom Piece: With It turquoise 4 ply yarn and F hook work Rnds 1-6 of Basic Circle (after Rnd 5 lay circle on piece of cardboard, draw around and cut circle out. Lay aside for later), after Rnd 6, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in next, Fasten off Top of Pincushion Rnds 1-6: With It turquoise and F hook, work Rnds 1-6 of Basic Circle. (36 sc) Rnd 7: Sc in each sc around, then sc in next 3 sc, sist in next. Do not fasten off: Side of Cushion Rnd 1: Ch 2, working in back loops only for this md, hdc in each st around, skip ch 2, join with st st in top of first hde. Fasten off Outer Lace Rnd 1: With It turquoise and F hook, (ch 3, de in 3rd ch from hook) 20 times, join with sl st in first ch to form ring being careful not to twist. Rnd 2: SI st in next loop, ch 4, work 5 de with ch 1 between them in same loop, (ch 3, in next loop work 6 de with ch 1 between them) 19 times, ch 3, join with sl st in 3rd ch of ch 4, Be careful not to twist.
