3. Location of work:- Lalitpur

4. Summary of the work performed:

 Interaction with farmers in the field, told about punarnirman project
 Agreement work between farmer & organization for shed improvement & goat
feed trough improvement program
 Participated in buffalo shed improvement training(feed trough & floor)
 Select and Layout of selected site for making Poly Tunnel

5. Major achievement of the work:-

 Changed in perception of farmer about animal shed improvement program
 Familiar with farmer of new place
 Completed agreement work
 Fully participation of farmer in training

6. Challenge faced during reporting period and effort to solve the same:-
 Farmers did not easily understand about buffalo shed improvement program so
after training farmers realized about it was necessary for them.
 Difficult to leveling and preparing land during practical season of Training
during layout

7. Major lesson learnt during the reporting period:-

 Selection of farmers for training should be done from ward level meeting in
order to decrease discussion between people
 Skilled Trainer should be used for shed improvement program
 To prepare field and to layout tunnel according to design

Report for the Month February of the Year 2018

1. Name of the Intern:- Sujan Bhandari

2. Organization:- SOLVE Nepal
3. Location of work:- Lalitpur

4. Summary of the work performed:-

 Distribution of maize corn thresher and mini tiller for different farmer group.
 Select and Layout of selected site for making Poly Tunnel
 Regular Monitoring and observation of Tunnel making programme
 Involving on cooperative and credit management training
 Supply Equipment required for nursery preparation
 Establishment of Nursery for Tomato and cucumber
 According to agreement distributing money (Rs 12000) for each farmer who
completed shed improvement progarmme.

5. Major achievement of the work:-

 Made farmer expert for nursery established in seedling tray.
 Advantages of shed improvement program were known by farmer.
 Interaction with lead farmer from different farmer group
 Get opportunity to involve in cooperative and credit management training, and
knew about it.

6. Challenge faced during reporting period and effort to solve the same:-
 Few farmers didn’t follow our design for preparing tunnel and shed, we were
requested them for reconstruct.
 Due to geographical problem, leveling of the land was difficult during
practical work.

7. Major lesson learnt during the reporting period:-

 The machinery equipment should be checked before distribution towards field.
 Always the new technologies were extended towards farmer field.
 Learnt about co-operative, how to run an organization, how can we manage
credit etc.

4. Summary of the work performed:-
 Seed distribution and Gave training to farmer group for off season vegetable
production
 Give Training on Post-Harvest Management
 Field visit & monitoring
 Participated on drip & sprinkler irrigation installation training.
 Application collection and business plan collection for MSME support
program
 Distributing plastic and seed tray to farmer who involve in tunnel making
programme
 Calculation of income statement of vegetable producer, monitoring nursery &
observation of newly constructed buffalo shed design.

5. Major achievement of the work:-

 The importance of drip & sprinkler irrigation was known by farmers.
 Farmer learned about how to use drip kit,sprinkle and seedling transplanter.
 Distribution was done in such a way that farmer whose economic status was
too low.
 Shared knowledge towards farmer field.
 The first year construction task( buffalo shed,plastic tunnel) was completed.

6. Challenge faced during reporting period and effort to solve the same:-.
 Damping off problem in nursery, suggest farmer to use bavistin or diethane m-
45 to control it.
 It is difficult to found exact data of vegetable production during survey so we entry
the data from farmer experiences.

7. Major lesson learnt during the reporting period:-

 Training should be effective if all were participated & gave interest.
 During experiment of four head sprinkle, we fount it is better than one head
sprinkle because it consume less water and effective for large area.
 Training of IPM techniques was necessary for farmer to control pest.

Report for the Month April of the Year 2018

4. Summary of the work performed:

 Field visit with SOLVE Nepal & CECI Office team, show them our achievement.
 Participated in next year plan meeting with SOLVE Nepal & CECI,plan presented
in ward level meeting
 Field visit & monitoring
 Report writing & submission of report to office.

5. Major achievement of the work:-

 Knew about past & present condition of farming
 Made plan for next year.
 Wrote complete report of 1st year plan & submitted to office.
 Shared knowledge towards farmer field

6. Challenge faced during reporting period and effort to solve the same:-
 Farmers were not use plastic on roof of tunnel due to high wind.
 During pre-planning it is hard to recognize what is the main need of farmer
and some hypothetically discussion is held to solve upcoming problem.
 Few farmers who are not touch with our project programme complained but

they will involve them in next year.

7. Major lesson learnt during the reporting period:-

 Always the new technologies were extended towards farmer field
 The planned presented for next year should be suitable for people of ward
involved in agricultural as well as livestock sector.
