1 Document information
1.1 Clarification of notation
Note: This type of paragraph calls readers attention to a notice or related theme.
IMPORTANT: This type of paragraph highlights a procedure, adjustment etc., which can cause a
damage or improper function of the equipment if not performed correctly and may not be clear at
first sight.
Example: This type of paragraph contains information that is used to illustrate how a specific function
works.

2 Differences
2.1 Dimensions
The 3rd generation of InteliLite controllers is slightly bigger than the InteliLite NT controllers as is shown the
following images:
Comparative Guide 4
Consequently, the cutout in the 3rd generation is also bigger as shown in following figure:
Symbols in blue are hidden. If the controller is off, All symbols are visible
they are not seen. They are shown only when it is
needed to, for example, if gen-set were running, then
the symbol would turn green, if there were a problem
with the gen-set, then it would turn red, etc.
Bigger LCD display, 132 x 64 pixels, placed on the 128 x 64 pixels LCD display, placed on the left
center
Comparative Guide 5
2.3 Terminals
The terminals in 3rd generation are not only named (as in InteliLite NT) but also numbered and these numbers
are embossed on the housing. Terminals are grouped by type (generator current, generator voltage, etc.) and the
position of those groups is relatively similar to the 2nd generation. See the tables and picture below.
Comparative Guide 6
2.4 Wiring
The only difference in wiring is related to the binary outputs. In the 3rd generation, the actuator has be connected
between the Binary Output terminal and the negative terminal of the battery, whereas in the 2nd generation it
was connected between the Binary Output terminal and the positive terminal of the battery. This is shown in the
following image.
InteliLite InteliLite NT
IMPORTANT: The 3rd generation of InteliLite controllers uses high side binary outputs!
Comparative Guide 7
2.6 USB communication
In order to connect the controller to the PC tool via USB, the 2nd generation required the use of a plug-in module
called IL-NT-S-USB. However, the architecture of the 3rd generation has integrated the USB port on the
controller so that there is no longer the need of a plug-in module.
Note: * The very same type of communication module cannot be used twice on the controller. Besides, earth
fault current protection is supported only when the EM-BIO8-EFCP is connected to Slot A.

2.8 PC tool
LiteEditt has been totally renovated for the 3rd generation of InteliLite controller. It has a completely new design
and it is even more intuitive than before. The name has remained the same and therefore, according to the
version, the user will know which generation of controller the PC tool can be used with. Please see the following
table for reference:
