Dental Caries (Cavities) is an infectious disease that destroys tooth structure

and results in cavities. If this is not treated quickly, this disease will cause pain and
tooth loss. Dental caries is a common disease that happens in children, especially
school-age children. The caries incidence rate in Indonesia ranged from 90.05%
based on Household Health Survey of 2004. One of the causes of this problem in
society is the lack of knowledge of the importance of oral and dental care. Based on
the background, this game innovation--that can give them education about dental and
oral health as well as introducing batik culture--is needed. This innovation game was
aimed to give more information about dental and oral health through card game that
uses batik design to society especially children. The UNO card game was designed
by using various Batik designs. The frontpart is filled with information about dental
education and tooth pictures as the main purpose of the UNO card game. The backpart
is filled with various batik design. This game was introduced to the society especially
children. The procedure of the usage of this game is as same way as UNO game. The
result of this card game innovation indicated that society especially children got more
information about dental education while they played it. Thus, it was concluded that
this game could be a supporting media to educate the society especially children while
doing counseling about dental education, so in the end the caries incidence rate may
slowly decreased.
