To find the value of LΩ (longitude of the intersection of the galactic plane

and the equator in Galactic coordinate system) in terms of Lp (Longitude of

the equatorial pole in galactic coordinate system)

The point has latitude equals to 0 in both coordinate system.

We have from the spherical geometry (coordinate transformation),

sin b = sin δ sin δp + cos δ cos δp cos(α − αp )

Putting b=0 and δ=0 we get,
π
α − αp =
2
Again we have other equation in spherical geometry (coordinate transforma-
tion)
sin(Lp − L) cos b = cos δ sin(α − αp )
Putting b=0 and δ = 0
Lp − L = α − αp
Using above relation we get,
π
L = Lp −
2
So,
π
LΩ = LP −
2
In galactic coordinate system

LΩ = 122.93193212 − 90 = 32.93193212

In supergalactic coordinate system

LΩ = 26.45043911 − 90 = −63.54956089
