Performance Instructions:
Vibrato: Naturally at the end of longer notes, except where notated with [squiggly line over the note]
Where a wide vibrato is called for.
Microtonal bends: These should be very natural sounding, as if whistling or singing with plenty of glissandi.
They are displayed in the score as a gliss. line between the notes and the instruction [bend] or [b]
Sibelius doesn't allow for eight tone (25 cent) notation, but the notes are essentially 20 - 50 cents off of
their original pitch. Its a slight flourish for one pitch. The main pitch is always the second/12TET pitch notated.
The preceding microtonal flourish should be short and unstressed.
These melodies were meant to be organic and not tied down to a score, so feel free to linger on notes or
rests and rit./rall. slightly with your tempi.
