Electric connection must be carried out by authorized electrician, and DS/EN 60204-1 must be observed. After each service all guards must be re-mounted before start-up. Outlet grate should only be removed, if the outlet is connected to a closed pipe connection. Remove conveying iron from the auger at outlet socket. At B-mixer also remove. the conveying bolts at the bottom hopper. 2.0 ERECTION TOOLS The following tools are necessary for erection of the mixer: - Benchhammer - Level - Ring/fork spanner 10/13/17/19 mm ~ Ladder - Screw driver - Allen key 4 mm - Tackle (min. allowed load 500 kg) 3.0 INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE MIXER 3.1 Generally The mixer should ONLY be placed on a level, steady floor or foundation. Likewise it must be taken care that the mixer is standing in a 100% vertical position in order to obtain a satisfactory operation. FOUNDATION FOR B-MIXER 900 Fig. 1 NB: Bottom hopper on B-mixer SHOULD NOT BE CONCRETED. 3.2 Erection of Mixer Erection of A-Mixer: Erection of B-Mixer: Pos. 1 Wire For easy handling it is is recommended to place the mixer, before the motor is mounted. 3.3 Erection of Belt Pulley on Motor Degrease motor shaft. The belt pulley is pressed over motor shaft with key. Fasten motor to motor bracket with the delivered bolts. The motor V-belt pulley is adjusted on motor shaft so that it is flush with the mixer belt pulley. ‘The V-belts are mounted and tightened as follows: P=19- 20N Fig. 4 Under no circumstances use other dimensions of V-belt pulleys, as the No. of revolution of the mixer should NOT be increased or decreased, 3.4 The Customer Supplies the Motor Demand to the Motor: - The motor effect must observe the indicated demands. - Motor type B3 1400 Rpm. - Insulation degree IP 54, 3.5 Revolution Direction, Auger (seen from above) Fig. 5 3.6 Erection of Load Cells See separate manual for load cells. 4.0 FUNCTION DESCRIPTION 4.1 Function Materials to be mixed can be added either through the cover or into the bottom hopper. Normally the main component (ground grain) is added into the top of the mixer, and concentrates to be mixed are added into the bottom hopper. The mixing procedure brings the material into circulation by means of an auger as shown in fig. 6. 4.2 Application The mixer with forced procedure is used either for production of a number of mixtures of different composition, or where many different components are used in a mixture. The advantage of such a mixer is that it gives you the possibility of producing almost any possible mixture, For smaller quantities the mixer can be used as silo with regard to the mixer capacity in kg/litres. 5.0 START-UP OF MIXER Check that there are no foreign bodies in the mixer before start-up of the motor. To be sure that the mixer is clean and smooth on the inside, it is recommened to let the mixer work with a portion of un-ground grain for approx. 1 hour, before the first real mixing will take place. 6.0 INSTRUCTION MANUAL, 61 of Application The mixer is used for mixing of storage-proof, ground products. The max. advisable addition of grease and similar liquid materials is MAX. 5% of the total portion, The addition must take place in a continuous flow with the mixer operating, and always be the last component in a mixture. If you want to add pellets to the meal mixture, this will cause a segregation. There will always remain some material in the mixer, in the bottom hopper and in the mixer cone (from the bottom and up to the forced pips). The mixer cannot be used for CCM mixtures. Operation The mixer is normally filled from the above. by a cyclone from a hammermill. Material can also be added via the bottom hopper, which however means that the mixer must operate continuously. The bottom hopper can be emptied 100% via a door at the base of the bottom hopper. The B type mixer, where the bottom hopper is below floor level, the emptying can be carried out by means of a vacuum cleaner. ‘Adding concentrates in larger quantities: The mixer is first filled with the basic product. Then concentrates are added and the mixer is started. Adding concentrates in smaller quantities: If a mixture with antibiotics is wanted, it is recommended to pre-mix this in a mixture of approx. 50 kg, and then to add this pre-mixture into the remaining part of the basic material. After finished mixing it is recommended to add 50-100 kg of the mixture into the bottom hopper in order to be sure that the last remains of the pre-mixture are drawn up into the mixer. Mixture containing cats: If a mixture shall contain oats, the oats should be added as the last component in order to reduce the tendency to bridge building in the mixer. The mixer is equipped with inspection window through which the material movements can be controlled. The best mixture is achieved at a mixing time of 15 minutes. Computer-controlled plants: At computer-controlled plants, all smaller quantities of concentrates etc. must be added through the mixer cover, WITHOUT the i n in order to avoid mistakes in the weighing, ‘As an alternative concentrates can be added into the bottom hopper, but this means that the mixer must be in operation, and that the concentrates are added as the first components in the mixture, 6.3 Fault Finding Established Fault, Reason and Repairing of Faults ‘The Mixer Does not Start: - No current. Check the cables. - The motor is defective. Replace the motor. - The auger is blocked. Check the auger. ‘The Motor is Overloaded: - The motor is too small. Use the recommended motor. - The auger is blocked. Check the auger, - The motor is defective. Replace the motor. xe i jing In : - The bearings are defective. Check the bearings. 6.4 Start-up after Unintentional Stop It must be considered - according to the design of the plant - whether there are other machines that must be started before the mixer in order to avoid a new unintentional stop. 6.5 Maintenance The bearings are lifetime lubricated, meaning that they need no lubrication. After every 1000 operation hours, check the V-belts for wear. Check also that they are sufficiently tightened, which is necessary for transferring the effect of the motor. 7.0 REPAIR OF THE MIXER Do remember to disconnect the current (remove fuses). 7.1 Replacement of V-Belts Dismount the belt guard. Slacken the belts by means of tightening bolts at the motor. Remove the old belts. Mount new belts. NB: Never use a combination of old and new V-belts. Tighten the belts as shown under “Mounting of Belt Pulley on Motor". Re-mount the belt guard. 7.2 Replacement of Forced Pipe Fig. 7 Pos. 1 Pos. 2 Pos.3 Auger Pos. 4 Forced pipe Pos. 5 Mixer cone NB: In some cases there are not sufficient free height above the mixer. If so it is necessary to lay down the mixer, The following parts must be dismounted at replacement of forced pipe: - Vebelt guard = V-belts - V-belt pulley Top bearing (pos. 1) on auger is fastened on the auger shaft by means of pivot screw and eccentric. Cover with support (pos. 2) is dismounted. The forced pipe (pos. 4) is loosened from the cross rail. The old forced pipe can now be pulled out of the mixer top. The new forced pipe is mounted and the above mentioned parts are mounted in the opposite order. In order to ensure that the auger runs correctly, it must be checked that auger and forced pipe centre, meaning that there is the same distance between pipe and auger flights all the way round, on top and below. This adjustment must be carried at the inside of the mixer. Then fasten cover, top bearing and auger. Furthermore the distance from auger shaft to bottom plate in the bottom hopper must be at least 10 mm as indicated on the spare parts drawing, -10- 7.3 Replacement of Lower Bearing in the Mixer Auger The mixer must lie down for this operation, Fig. 8 Pos. 1 Bottom hopper Pos, 2 Auger Pos. 3 Bottom bearing Pos. 4 Bottom pin Pos. 5 Bottom plate In order to control the mixer auger it will be advantageous to lock same to f.ex. the outlet by means of a heavy steel thread. Dismount the bottom plate (pos. 5) with bearing pivot. Dismount bottom bearing (pos. 3) and mount the new bottom bearing (must be pressed into the auger). It will be advantageous to replace the bottom pivot (pos. 3) at the same time, : | <1. 7.4 Replacement of Mixer auger Dismount the following parts: = V-belt guard - V-belts = V-belt pulley Fig. 9 Top bearing on auger (pos. 1) is fastened to the auger shaft by a pivot screw and eccentric, Pos. 2 Cover with support Pos. 3 Auger Pos. 4 Forced pipe Pos. 5 Mixer Before dismounting the auger, the scrapers in mixer cone and in bottom hopper must be removed. Mount the new auger and the scrapers. Mount the above mentioned parts in the opposite order. To be sure that the auger operates correctly, it must be checked that auger and forced pips centre, meaning that the distance between pipe and auger flights is the same all the way round, on top and below. Furthermore the distance from auger shaft to bottom plate in the bottorn hopper must be at least 10 mm as indicated on the spare parts drawing. Check that the scrapers in mixer cone and in bottom hopper have a distance of approx. 5 mm to the wall. “12+ 8.0 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS A2 AS A4 B2 B.
