Module Learning Objectives

On successful completion of this module, the student should:
• Know about different types of structures used in automobiles,
typical loading conditions it is subjected to, how to determine the
load flow through the structure and different methodologies used
for design for different types of loading and diferent level of
design.
• Understand the aspects of Vehicle Safety, Occupant Protection,
and related Legislation and Testing
• Know about special topics such as Pedestrian Safety
• Use multibody dynamics simulation software to model occupants
and airbags
• Use LS-Dyna crash simulation software to model crash
phenomena
