Pesticide Certification study materials are for home study or for use in classroom training to prepare candidates
for Ministry of Environment pesticide applicator and dispenser certification examinations. The study materials are
distributed by the Distribution Centre - Victoria of the BC Ministry of Citizens’ Services and Open Government.

Please select the study materials for the category of certification that you require. Applicators may use and
dispensers may sell pesticides only in the category for which they are certified. If you are not sure what
certification category you require, please contact the Distribution Centre receptionist who will provide advice.

An application with instructions for writing the pesticide certification examination will be enclosed with
each study kit. The fee is $90.00 per exam, to be submitted with the exam application. DO NOT SEND THE
FEE FOR THE EXAM WITH THIS ORDER FOR STUDY MATERIALS. Please allow at least two weeks for
exam marking and notification of your marks after you write the exam.

be accompanied by acceptable payment (money order, Visa, MasterCard). If you have concerns about including

 NOTES FOR ORDERING STUDY MATERIALS
♦ The study materials for many certification categories include a core manual which is the same for several categories,
plus category specific booklets. The booklets contain pest management information, plus a study guide and practice
exam for the category. Make sure that you obtain all the items listed for a category.
♦ If you require certification in more than one category, you do not need to order duplicate materials. You only need one
copy of an item used for several categories, unless you are ordering for several people.
♦ If you already have some of the study materials, check that they are current editions at
http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/epd/ipmp/pest_certification/certif_editions.htm. If they are current, you can order just the
items that you are missing.
♦ Applications to write the certification examinations are enclosed with every order.
♦ Any item may be ordered for purposes other than certification.
