C. Functional Test of the Energizing/De-energizing Function
(1) Equipment and Materials

(2) Job Set-Up
(a) Make certain that the aircraft is in GROUND configuration.
(b) Make certain that neither of the main engines are running.
(c) Pull up and lock parking brake control handle.
(d) Connect electrical ground power unit and energize the aircraft electrical
network (Ref. AMM 24-41-00, P. Block 301 ) .
(e) Energize the Audio Integrating System (Ref. AMM 23-50-00, P. Block 501) .
(f) Connect headset (600 ohms) to control unit 1RK at overhead panel.
(g) Make certain that the following circuit breakers are closed:

6. At circuit breaker panel 133VU Voice recorder stops running after

- close circuit breaker 2ES and 5 minute time delay (CVR fails BITE
note time Test to verify)
7. At overhead panel 442VU At overhead panel 442VU
- press GND CTL P/BSW/Indicator - Magnetic Latch Switch (51TU) is
light (ON) latched on and ON indicator light
comes on (blue)
8. At circuit breaker panel 133VU At overhead panel 442VU
- open circuit breaker 1ES - Magnetic Latch Switch (51TU) is
(Simulating ENG1 running) unlatched and indicator light (ON)
goes off
9. At circuit breaker panel 133VU At overhead panel 442VU
- close circuit breaker 1ES - GND CTL indicator light (ON)
remains off

NOTE: To check only the function of Time Delay Relay 23RK it is sufficient to energize the aircraft
electrical network, note the time and make certain that the CVR is running. After a time lapse
of 5 minutes make certain that the CVR stops running. (During this 5 minute period neither
main engines should be started).

(4) Close-Up
(a) Disconnect headset (600 ohms) from control unit 1RK on overhead panel.
(b) De-energize the Audio Integrating System (Ref. AMM 23-50-00, P. Block 501) .
(c) De-energize the aircraft electrical network and disconnect electrical ground power
unit (Ref. AMM 24-41-00, P. Block 301 ) .
(d) Make certain that work area is clean and clear of tools and miscellaneous items of equipment.
