I have observed Tax Saver ELSS funds have more returns than Large cap ELSS funds. Could you please tell me which one i
need to choose (I do not want Tax exemption benefits since long term returns are important to me).
Large cap:
1. SBI Bluechip Fund
2. Aditya Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity Fund
Could you please suggest which one is best in Large and Tax saving ELSS funds ?
Hi Basu, Thanks for the valueble article. I am 38 years old and planning to invest 10000 per month. And planning to build
portfolio with 80% equity (60% large cap, 10% mid cap and 10% small cap) and 20% debt and shortlisted the below funds
from each category:
Large cap:
Kotak Select Focus Fund
Aditya Birla sun Life frontline equity
ICICI Prudential Focused Blue Chip
Mirae Asset Emerging Blue Chip
Multi Cap:
Franklin India Prima Plus
Motilal Most Focused Multicap 35 Fund
Sundaram Rural India Fund
Mid Cap:
Franklin India Prima Fund
HDFC Mid Cap Opp Fund
Aditya Birla Sun Life Pure Value Fund
Small Cap:
Franklin India Smaller Companies
Kotak Emerging Equity Scheme
Balanced:
HDFC Balanced Fund
ICICI Prudential Balanced Fund
L&T India Prudence Fund
Aditya Birla Sun Life 95 Balanced Fund
There are too many in the list and I am getting confused in terms of choosing 4-5 funds with the best possible mix and %
allocation.
Could you suggest best funds with the best mix and % allocated for the investment over 10years (I am also fine to invest
for 15years but not sure if it will work well or I should start investing in new funds over a period of time)? Initially I am
planning to start with 10 to 15k per month and will increase gradually.
But still this list is longer with 11 funds excluding a debt fund which i yet to find. Could you suggest if distributing
investment these many funds are right since i feel overlap in holdings in each fund category may lead to risk.
And i am planning to go with ‘Direct Growth Funds’, instead of ‘Regular Growth Funds’ considering the expense ratio. But
most of the Direct Funds are less than 5 years old, hence they are not subject to all type of market conditions/corrections
like old funds. I am not sure how to decide on this.
Reply
Saravana-One Large Cap, one mid cap and one small cap in the ratio of 50:30:20 enough in equity. Direct funds are 5
years older but they followed the same theme of regular funds. Hence, there is no difference between direct and regular
funds when it comes theme and fund manager and stock selection.
i have investing in following mutual funds (direct) from nov 2017 cumulatively 15000 inr in sip mode monthly through
zerodha coin .
i m looking for investment for minimum 10-15 years. is my portfolio ok? or it need any changes?? i need suggestions from
you sir…..
