I will learn about strategies that engage students, and implement effective classroom management techniques
to manage the students in the classroom.

1. Choose and describe an aspect from a teaching competency that you need to work on (Goal)

I need to work on my class management more because if I will not gone use a right strategies for the

classroom management or apply it they will not be properly organized, this will affect the student level or I

will not achieve any of the lesson objectives.

2. Describe what you will do to help achieve your goal (Strategies Used)

I will use different warmer activity for the lesson, not always the same to engage the student’s attentions

for the lesson, and do not get bored because if the lesson are always the same they may get bored from the

lesson, and they will now gone focus.

3. Describe how you can tell if you’re achieving your goal (Evidence)

I can tell that I achieving my goal when I ask each student and they give me a right answers, and some

of the students after the lesson comes to me and show me the words that start with the sound that they

learn it, and that what happened when I teach them /u/ sound.

Introduction (warmer activity + teacher active engagement)

Sing a Song of Sounds is the important things to do before we introduce the phonic sound. So will

sing together and we will do the actions for each sound. After we done with the song I will going to

tell them a short story and each words in the story start with /r/ sound, the students have to say the

words after me, and then they have to guess which sound that we will going to learn it.

I will ask the students to give me new words that begin with /r/ sound.

Introducing Phonics & Letter Knowledge


I will show children how to form a r on the board using the explanation (Start at the top, go

down, back up and over the rabbit’s floppy ear.)

I will ask them to use their magic finger to write r on the air and on the carpet, and then I will

introduce that I am going to put a marker in front of one of the student, before I put the marker they

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)

Rain cloud craft

In this activity the students will going to create a cloud and raindrops, they will use plastic plate,
cotton, glue, raindrops (free printable), yarn, letter r (free printable), and tape.
1- They will apply glue to the paper plate.
2- Add cotton balls to cover the plate.
3- The students will use tape to attach one end of a piece of yarn to the back of raindrop and
the other end of the yarn to the back of the paper plate.
4- Then they will apply glue to the letter r to add it on the cotton.
The students will learn in this activity that the raindrops begin with /r/ sound, and they will learn
that the raindrops comes from the clouds.

Independent Experience (small group activity 2)

Rainbow counting

This activity is for the math corner, and it is include 15 rainbow numbers cards.

The student will pick a card and he/she have to know the number first, because they have to add the
round wood to the pipe cleaner. For example, if the student pick number 2 he/she have to
add three rounds wood to the pipe cleaner.

Independent Experience (small group activity 3)

Feeding the Rabbit letter r:

The students will have a pictures of a hungry rabbit, and they will have alphabet letters in small
basket, the students have to feed the rabbit letter r only.

Independent Experience (small group activity 4)

Sand and rocks

In this activity the students will have to choices to write /r/ sound by using sand or they can make
letter r using the rocks, and each students will get a cards to know the steps how to write the letter
r.

After they done with the activities I will open clean up songs to clean up the table and to set in the

I will ask them to make a four groups (red group, yellow group, green group, and blue group), each

Formative assessment:

After I teach them who to write the sound /r/, and then I chose some of the student to write for me

on the board, or during the activities while I am walking around the groups and asking them some

questions or take a look for their works.
