they will be receiving the Eucharist for the first time through Holy
Communion. A series of steps will be undertaken in the lead up towards
the First Holy Communion. Students will be provided with an insight into
how this special celebration in their lives derived from life of Jesus is one
that can impact their spiritually on a more personal level. I hope this
information evening assists you.

Concluding Prayer:
Lord Jesus, you showed your love for children by saying ‘Let the children come to me’. Assist us as parents and
teachers to prepare our children for this special meeting with you in the Sacrament of Eucharist. We ask your
blessing of peace and love on us all.
Amen.
Ceremony Format: 2:00pm start. Church access from 1:30pm. The Ceremony will run for approximately 40-
60 minutes with no break.
Seating Arrangements: Please see the notice board displayed in the classroom with all seating
arrangements. All students will be seated at the front in alphabetical order with families sitting behind,
Dress Requirements:
Girls:
- White or ivory dress below the knee or calf height
- White or ivory shoes
- White stockings (exposed legs are not permitted)
- Veil or headpiece
- Gloves are optional
- Jacket or cardigan is optional
- Minimal jewellery
Boys:
- Light or dark coloured suits with jacket
- Enclosed polished shoes in a dark colour
- White, long sleeved, buttoned up shirt with a collar
- Tie in a solid colour
Family Members:
- Smart Dress
- Jeans not permitted
- Appropriate clothing showing little skin
Extra Procedures: Children are welcome but please be mindful of the importance of the ceremony, the
length of time being seated and of any behaviour that may disrupt the ceremony.
All mobile phones must be turned off – do not leave on vibrate.
Wheelchair access is provided. For any inquiries in regards to seating of wheelchairs please find a time after school
to discuss this with me.
This is a first in, first served situations. Please arrive early to get a seat which best suits your family.
