Where did you go to primary school ?

I went to school i n the inside area of kalimantan, it is small population and dominated by forest,
there are hundrend children whole school, just about 20 children every class.

Did you enjoy school?

To be honest, not really, i enjoyed to meet my friends in school, above all we could play to gether, i
love study art and sport, as it is really attractive for me, nevertheless, i did not like science as phisic
and match and of course l hate a test, so i found school really stresful with so much pressure.

What was your favourite schoolsubject?

Well, like i told youbefore, i was very keen on science, it just did not hold my attention, i wish i
enjoyed it more, i thought its important to seek work n this era, but my passion was art , i loved to
create sculpting and painting, it belew me away.

Did you study in university?

I was freshgraduate in my university, i took nursing as my major, as it is essential item i tought

becouse, there was major problem regarding illness and health care in my area, the live level wes
lower in the indonesia, a lot of people could affort the hospital and care access wes still limit.

Do you try to keep fit? How

Yes certainly, i know a health is very essential one , although i can be a bit lazy! I try to walk from my
house to my university, i think it is like great excercise too, i love cycling in my area as it creates my
body helth and gives me energy.

Do you think it is important for young people to stay fit?

I think that it really important to stay fit when you are young becouse you are less likely to heve
healthy problems, it also you have to good exercise habits for when you are older and keeping fit is
even more important for your health.

Do you play any sports? Which do you like best?

I love sports, it is difficult to me to mentions what is my favourite sport, football is the unique sport
not cound down a indivial skill, but we have to know good team work, i enjoy it but not for
prefesional player, batminton is one of sport i do regularly, i ever got grade 3 in the competition,
allthough it is just universityl level.

Do you prefer waching sport or taking part?

Most of the time i prefer to play sport, batminton, tannis table, soccer and chast are my favorite
play, but football is the most popular for waching in my village, it has many supporter in my place,
even they wait until mid night to see the competition.
Have you ever been to live sport event?

Yeach i have. In my village there is compitition for local area eith district level, it is so crowded pople
to wach the turnament, it was a final mach at this time, and with hard player. It shows until
additional time and has to continue pinalthy, sadly my favourite team losed in that mach.

And explain why you didn’t like them?

I have been lucky to have a lot of really great teachers, but there was one who i didn’t like at all, he
was my science teacher, it was not because a science but the way he teaching us, when i was 12
years, he was useless, all of my lessons were really boring, and we spended most time to write in
front of black board, he was not a good at explain the matery with rude wold, it made class like
histery every day, we could’n enjoy at the class, even he was not good to control a class, that
created complicated one to concentrate at the moment.

Do you think the majority of teacher are good in their job?

To be honest, i perceive that it is difficult to judge the majority of teachers, when i ‘ve only
experienceeda few from what i’ve seen, the teacher just followed the rule from the book, it makes
them relly oul fassion, they did not able to development of technology, threfore, it makes student
bored. Futhermore, according the Bambang Sudibyo expert of education record that just about 23%
teacher who have good qualiti in 2015.

Teacher often complain about being overworked, do you agree?

Of couse, i think becoming a teacher recently have ammount of work to do, there is so much paper
work and they have to compeet with latest technology, i mean that they must master a matery by
computer ar other device, furthermore , in inside area, teacher has to cover until 2-4 class, it is more
enforce them. But the other county as Finland which is advance education level have few schedule.
Therefore it creates good result for scholar.

What can be done to improve the quality of teaching?

I think the authority has constructed many systems to inprove education, but the most important is
regulation training to ensure a better and consistent quality in school. For example therecognize
latest technology, many teacher couldn’t use computer in class room, it will be old fasion. And
students are difficult to increase lesson. Another manner is the wage of teacher has to increase for
inprove quality . the swiss is the largest earn for tacher which is about 837 billion (kurs: Rp
12.176/US$). It follows by german and belgia, while the indonesia just send Rp 34,4 billion for a year.
So it make the quality of indonesia lower level of education.

Should taecher be allowed to hit students who misbehave very badly?

No, theacher should be not allowed to use violence agains students.decipline shuld be not physical
as it send the wrong message to student, it will create dire consequence by student, for example,
when teacher hits student or say rude wold, they will follow and immitate that behave, it leads to a
corrosive effect,furthermore, in term of UNICEF in 2006 the fiugure shows several areas in
Indonesia about 80% the violence conduct by teacher and 120 case for childent occurt in school , it
really makes level education falling down, yet in any case, the hitting student who misbehave badly
needs to make anouncment on other student, even we have to avoid it.

What do you thing can be done to improve dicipline in school?

There are sevelar way to incrase dicipline in education area. First of all, teach student more like
adult, giving childrent mutual knowledge with other students, secondly, the rule have to clear
further type its, it makes violator more thinking about their doing. And the rule has to whole unit of
school involved teacher not be diversity all student.

What would you do to improve the education system if you were the minister for Education?

Well, i think the main improvement that iwould make to education system would be reducing the
number of exams. I would introduce more courswork-bassed assesment, so the emphasis was
student really learning and understanding a subject: not just memorise fact to repeat in an exam.i
would also introduce more life skill education to teach children about the responsibility.
