Guía Breve

Una contracción es una manera corta de decir algo. En inglés las contracciones son muy comunes. Cuando formamos contracciones estamos quitando una letra o
varias letras y remplazamos con un apostrofe (').

Usa la guía breve que se muestra arriba para escribir las siguientes oraciones con contracciones. Haz clic en el botón de “Revisar” para revisar tu respuesta.
Asegura que escribes correctamente las letras en mayúsculas o minúsculas como corresponde y que escribes el punto o signo de interrogación al final antes de
revisar. También si escribes dos espacios entre las palabras en lugar de uno, la computadora va a interpretar que es un error al revisar.

to be (negativo)
Guía Breve

Como observaste en la guía completa al principio de esta página, hay varias maneras de formar el negativo de “to be” en inglés. Se puede formar sin o con
contracción. Generalmente nada más usamos el negativo sin contracción si queremos enfatizar el negativo. Por ejemplo si digo, “I am not a student.” Estoy
enfatizando que no soy estudiante porque pensabas que sí soy estudiante. En el siguiente ejercicio practicaremos con la manera más común de formar el negativo
(en la guía breve abajo).

Afirmativo Negativo

Para formar una pregunta en inglés con el verbo "to be," tienes que colocar el verbo (am, is, o are) primero y luego el sujeto de la oración.

He is a student. → Is he a student?
You are from Mexico. → Are you from Mexico?
