The process of surface irrigation can be described using four phases. As water is applied to the
top end of the field it will flow or advance over the field length. The advance phase refers to
that length of time as water is applied to the top end of the field and flows or advances over the
field length. After the water reaches the end of the field it will either run-off or start to pond. The
period of time between the end of the advance phase and the shut-off of the inflow is termed the
wetting, ponding or storage phase. As the inflow ceases the water will continue to runoff and
infiltrate until the entire field is drained. The depletion phase is that short period of time after
cut-off when the length of the field is still submerged. The recession phase describes the time

Seaplanes, carrier based airplanes, vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), Space shuttles, and
land planes are examples of aircraft types. Land planes are designed to operate from a hard
surface, typically a paved runway. Some land planes are specially equipped to operate from
grass or other unfinished surfaces. A land plane usually has wheels to taxi, take off, and land,
although some specialized aircraft operating in the Arctic or Antarctic regions have skis in
place of wheels. The wheels are sometimes referred to as the undercarriage, although they are
often called, together with the associated brakes, the landing gear. Landing gear may be
fixed, as in some general- aviation airplanes, or retractable, usually into the fuselage or
wings, as in more sophisticated airplanes in general and commercial aviation.
Human population has been growing continuously since the end of the Black Death, around the
year 1350, although the most significant increase has been in the last 50 years, mainly due to
medical advancements and increase in agricultural productivity. The rate of population growth
has been declining since the 1980s. The United Nations has expressed concern on continued
excessive population growth in sub-Saharan Africa. Recent research has demonstrated that those
concerns are well grounded. As of December 16, 2016 the world's human population is estimated
to be 7.471 billion by the United States Census Bureau, and over 7 billion by the United Nations.
Most contemporary estimates for the carrying capacity of the Earth under existing conditions are

Find out how to improve your memory – naturally – with these expert- approved strategies..
1) A good night’s sleep can improve your memory: it starts with plenty of rest. Try going to
bed 30 minutes earlier than you normally would tonight, and then every following night
until you find you’re getting the amount of sleep your body needs. Evidence supports the
role of sleep in consolidating, cementing and even restoring our memories.
2) Clear your mind: before engaging in a task in which you need to remember new
information, close your eyes, empty your mind and practice deep breathing or least 2
minutes. The deep breathing helps clear your mind and lower your stress hormones, both
of which, studies find, can enhance your brain’s ability to absorb new information.
3) Train your brain to pay attention : when you receive new information you need to
remember, tune out everything else and stay actively focused on the fact. Giving a subject
your full attention helps it “ stick” in your memory.
