Celebrity on a Postage Stamp

Want a country singer on your United States Postage Stamp? Choose Thomas Rhett. He

was born on March 30th, 1990 in Valdosta, Georgia. Rhett married Lauren Gregory, now Lauren

Akins. They met in kindergarten, went to the same church camp, and dated in high school. When

Thomas and Lauren had trouble having children, they adopted a baby from Uganda. During the

adoption process, they found out that Lauren was pregnant. Now, Rhett is involved in

Outnumber Hunger. This organization fights hunger in America. Thomas Rhett deserves to be on

the United States Postage Stamp because he is an amazing country singer-songwriter and has

achieved many awards.

Thomas Rhett is an amazing singer and songwriter. He was inspired to write ‘Marry Me’

because he wondered what it would have been like if he didn't share his feelings for his wife.

This year, 2018, this song became his 10th song to be number 1 for the country airplay on the

Billboard chart. Rhett had a songwriting career before his record deal. He wrote songs for

Florida Georgia Line, Scotty McCreery, and Jason Aldean.

Thomas Rhett has won so many music awards. At the Academy of Country Music

Awards in 2017, he won as male vocalist of the year. ‘Die a Happy Man’ earned him his first

Academy of Country Music Award when it was named Song of the Year. His 3rd album, ‘Life

Changes’ came out at number 1 for pop and country. Rhett first album was “It Goes like This”

(2013), which climbed to number 6 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

Thomas Rhett should be on the United States Stamp because he’s amazing at writing

songs and singing them too. He’s well-known for his songs, ‘Marry Me’, ‘Die a Happy Man’,

and ‘Drink a Beer’. He said, “It is completely a God thing that I am here today, because for the

first 17 years of my life, I never thought I would do music professionally.” Rhett thought he

wouldn't do music as a career, and now he’s won awards and has many number 1 hits.
