CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS

Weight and Sampling Analyst


Main Purpose:

Support WSMD (Weight & Sampling Department) operations for Trafigura’s LATAM offices from
Montevideo.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Chemistry education and/or Technical training in laboratory analysis is a plus


• 1-3 years’ previous experience is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of bulk cargoes, preference is given to base metals concentrates
• Clear understanding of weight and quality risks
• Good knowledge of laboratory analysis findings
• Good understanding of physical logistics and operations at ports, mines, smelters, warehouses and
of loading/discharge operations
• Working knowledge of industry documents such as Assay certificates, Weight/Moisture
certificates, Bill of Lading, WH Receipt, Holding Certificate, Stock report
• Understanding of purchase & sales terms for physical base metals contracts, insurance and freight
• Knowledge of worldwide markets for bulk cargoes (concentrates) is an asset
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Team player and person who can work on priorities
• English fluent

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluation of contractual risks of weight and quality, review WSMD clause in the contracts
• Support Operations team in coordinating WSMD related matters
• Daily communication with laboratories and surveyors
• Follow up weights and assays finalization and control entries in the system
• Issuance of outturn reports to present to commercial desks
• Storage and blends risk management
