WEDNESDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2010 – 8 CPD POINTS

ALS Training Day Featuring Laparoscopic

Knot-Tying, Suturing & Stapling
The ALS Training Day offers a unique opportunity to work in a state of the art skills and simulation centre and be trained
by some of the UK’s best laparoscopic surgeons.
The programme includes live operating sessions tailored to the needs and requirements of Registrars – what is the best
way to do a TEP hernia, anterior fundoplication, splenectomy etc as well as an introduction to SSL technology. There will
be live surgery, guest lectures and skills stations to practice using newer technologies (such as harmonic scalpels, SSL
ports) and of course standard favourites including workshops on laparoscopic suturing.
Places will be limited and are expected to go very quickly. Delegates must be ST6–8 ALS trainee members and registered
for the ALS Meeting. The ALS Training Day is heavily subsidised by Ethicon Endo-Surgery and Ethicon Products and
promises to be a unique training opportunity.
