The Eiffel Tower


The iron construction is located in Paris, the capital city of
France, close to the Seine River. The tower was designed
by Gustave Eiffel and was built between 1887 and 1889. On
15 May 1889, the Eiffel Tower opened its door to the public.
The destruction of this iconic building was ordered by Hitler
during the WWII. Today the Eiffel Tower is the tallest
structure in France. It is considered an architectural
wonder and attracts more visitors than any other paid tourist
attraction in the world.

Giza Necropolis
The Ancient Egyptian complex is located in
Cairo, Egypt. The Pyramids of Giza were built
by the ancient Egyptians as houses for the
remains of the deceased Pharaohs under Kufhu
reign (2589-2566 B.C.). Until today it is
unknown how the Pyramids actually were
made.
Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal is located in Agra, a city in Uttar
Pradesh, India. The building covered with white
marble was built between 1631 and 1648 by
an emperor Shah Jahan, in memory of his
beloved wife. The "crown of buildings" is the
symbol of the Indian nation.

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty is located in New York, USA.


The Statue of Liberty was designed by the French
sculptor Frederic Bartholdi. It was given as a gift from
France to the people of the United States in 1886.

Christ the Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro,


Brazil
The most famous statue of Jesus is located at the peak
of the Corcovado Mountain. The Christ was built as a
symbol of Brazilian Christianity.
The stones that were used to build Christ the
Redeemer came from Sweden.
The statue was completed and officially opened on
October 12, 1931.
Big Ben
Big Ben, the Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament
is located in London, UK. The Big Ben clock tower
was designed by the English architect Augustus Pugin
in Gothic Revival style at the end of the 19th century.
The clock started working in 1859. The hour bell was
named after Benjamin Hall, the First Commissioner of
Works. The clock tower looks spectacular at night when

the four clock faces are illuminated.
