DEAD POETS SOCIETY

Dead Poets Society tells the story of a professor of literature with a group of

students during 1959 in Welton Academy (Vermont), a traditional and

prestigious institution.

Tradition, honor, discipline and excellence: those are the values of the prestigious

American Academy Welton. A new literature teacher named John Keating arrives

at the traditional institution with a motto: "CARPE DIEM".

"CARPE DIEM" means "TIME", time does not come back, and we should enjoy

your life that does not return time and not be able to recover the lost time.

CARPE DIEM is a motto that everybody should apply in your lives and I take the

opportunities present to me, because I do not want to get to be forty years old

frustrated because I not did something in the past.

In the film an example of the motto is Neil Perry, who is my favorite character,

who spearheaded to create the "Dead Poets Society," Neil also had a big dream

to be an actor but his father never allowed, so he decides to pursue his dream

acting in a play without his father's consent. Although Neil killed himself, he died

fulfilling his dream.

At the end of the film, Professor John Keating is fired because he indirectly

blamed for the death of Neil, but they support his students and they are grateful

for what their teacher taught them.

The final conclusion that left me the film is the motto, live the present exploiting

opportunities for that in the future we do not regret.
