COMPANY PROFILE

1.0 Background
The ready mix concrete business in Uganda is in its infancy. Whereas in developed
countries, nearly 70 per cent of cement consumption is in the form of ready mix
concrete and 25 per cent in the form of recast, in Uganda, ready mix concrete accounts
for less than 2 per cent and as much as 90 per cent of cement consumption is in the form
of site-mixed concrete. However, the supply of ready mix concrete is growing rapidly
with several large contractors using ready mix for their projects and selling the surplus.

Although, concrete supply as ready mix is increasingly becoming a preferred option, it

poses certain challenges related to time of delivery and distance of project site, both of
which affect product quality. Freshly produced concrete has only a life-span of one hour
unless special additives are used in the recipe. In order to ensure good quality ready
mix concrete supply, production should be delivered to project site within 30 minutes
after it has been loaded otherwise, quality will suffer because of excessive mixing.
Consequently, there may be a decrease in the quality of processed concrete because of
delivery length, waiting length at project site or excessive environmental temperature.

Our approach to the ready mix concrete business addresses the shortcomings of the
conventional methods of production and delivery.

2.0 Our Solution-The RAI Batching System

We specialize in the supply of high quality fresh ready-mix concrete, on-site, anywhere,
at any time and in any quantity. Our solution is unparalleled in the East African
building and construction industry. With our solution, we have resolved the problem of
timely delivery of fresh, ready mix and high quality concrete even to the most remote
areas. This is particularly a matter-of-fact in situations where batching plants tend to be
situated in big cities such as is the case with most African countries.

Furthermore, our proposed ProALL Reimer mixers batching solution consists of a set of
three automated mobile auger-mixers, an 80m reach boom pump, wheel loaders and a
stand-by generator among others; with a capability to guarantee a timely, consistent
and continuous pour. And totally eliminate hiccups due to breakdowns in concrete
supply as a result of mechanical failures and/or maintenance shutdown requirements of
batching plants over the entire span of any project.

2.1 About the Reimer Batching System

ProALL Reimer Mixers, previously known as Reimer Alliance International, started
over 40 years ago to solve the problems associated with remote location concrete
delivery. From the beginning, our innovation has come from the field – our customers
have showed us how they have been able to use ProALL Reimer Mixers to solve their
concrete delivery needs and we responded by continuing to evolve our product lines so
that old and new customers, all around the world, receive high quality machines that
exceed industry standards.

ProAll is the world leader in volumetric mixing technology. Quite simply, we’re the best
at enabling you to deliver quality, certified concrete. Why do people buy Reimer
Mixers? It’s because they need an advantage over typical delivery methods – there is
something unique about their situation or circumstance that compels them to look for
an alternative. For example, delivery to remote locations can wreak havoc with concrete
freshness – with a ProALL Reimer Mixer your concrete is always fresh; materials are
held in separate bins and tanks until the moment concrete delivery begins thereby
ensuring the freshest concrete with no possibility of a hot load.

Labour is a big cost component to any project. If you have a crew waiting around to
place concrete that doesn’t show up on time, it’s costing you money. With a Reimer
Mixer you can deliver accurate, engineer-specified concrete where you want, when you
want and improve your bottom line.

A contractor may need to deliver small amounts of concrete to multiple locations in a

short period of time; may need to over-order to ensure that he does not run short for his
project; Or, just needs to deliver more than one type of concrete to a particular location.
Normal concrete supply is not optimal for these requirements and the client needs to
take control of his concrete delivery using a Reimer Volumetric Mixer concrete supply
solution.
Overview

Sand, stone and cement are loaded into specially-manufactured bins. The polyethylene
tank is filled with water for mixing and cleanup. Once you’re ready to pour, the
operator simply adjusts the dual aggregate flow gates to ensure the correct amount of
sand and stone are delivered to the mix.

A proprietary cross-member delivery chain with a bolt-on rubber conveyor belt delivers
the precise amount of aggregate to a high-speed auger. Cement is accurately dispensed
and as the cement and other materials enter the mixing auger, water is introduced to
provide the required slump.

The auger, manufactured with hardened wear plates completes the mixing action. The
full-function wireless remote control gives a single operator the freedom to stand in a
convenient location and make adjustments to the conveyor belt, auger and discharge
rate with ease.

VALUE-ADDED CONCRETE WITH OPTIONAL SYSTEMS

Value-added concrete allows for marketplace differentiation and increased profitability.

Specialty concrete mixes, including the use of color, chemical admixtures and
Supplementary Cementing Materials (SCMs) can reduce costs and heighten margins.
Increase durability, workability and control set times while delivering a higher
performance mix. Reimer Alliance International offers four specialized
dispensing/metering systems:

VM FIBER FEEDER SYSTEM

An embedded chopper for Alkali-Resistant (AR) glass fiber rovings provides on-
demand chopped fibers to reduce cracking and increase compressive strength in your
mix.
COLOR METERING SYSTEM
Complete with auger and agitator, it accurately meters and dispenses dry color
pigments.

DUAL-PRODUCT ADMIXTURE INJECTION SYSTEM

The 3-tank admix system dispenses retarders, accelerators, plasticizers/water reducers,
foaming and releasing agents.

SCM DISPENSING SYSTEM

Critical to high performance durability mixes – dispense silica fume, fly ash, slag and
other supplementary cementing materials.
