DUPHAT – Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and

Technologies Conference and Exhibition

Since beginning of the life time of DUPHAT in 1995, it became one of the most annual pharmaceutical
important events hosted in the beautiful city of Dubai, UAE.

The conference which was held in Conferences Hall, International Trade Centre in Dubai Towers took place
on 15th, 16th and 17th of March, 2010.

The wheel is turning and EPSF team is learning…

We always give great care for gaining experience from the international pharmaceutical world so we
contributed in this conference by best of the best:
Mr. Eslam Sayed the EPSF President, Mr. Mostafa Aly the
Treasurer, Mr. Mohamed Ebraheem the Chairperson of Continues
Education, Mr. Moddather Mohamed a Member in EPSF-NUB,
Miss. Hoda Khaled a Member in ASSPSA.

All of the representatives learned so many things to transfer it


back to us.

The first day, 15th of March:

A workshop entitled “How to plan your pharmacy career successfully?”

The second day, 16th of March:

1. YUPPY, We can now write a research proposal after taking this workshop entitled “A guide how to
write a research proposal”
by Dr. Nagwa Ibrahim - Pharm.D., Clinical Pharmacist, Coordinator, Oncology / Hematology, Riyadh
Military Hospital, Saudi Arabia.
2. OOPS, This topic seems really complicated, “Regulatory and Analytical considerations in the
extemporaneous preparations of medicines”
by Dr. Nasir Hussain - B.Pharm., MBA, Ph.D., Strategy Foresight Partnership LLP, London, UK.
3. This workshop was about “Interpersonal Communication Techniques in Clinical Pharmacy”
by Dr. Joaquima Serradell - Pharm.D., Ph.D., Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, USA.
The third day, 17th of March:

SINCE WE ARE ALL LOST BETWEEN US PHARMACOPOEIA AND BP, So we had to learn what are Pharmacopoeia
in the work shop, “The Pharmacopoeial Discussion Group - International Harmonization of
Pharmacopoeial Requirements”
by Dr. Susanne Keitel, Ph.D., European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM),
Council of Europe.

NOW LET’S GET TO WORK:


We had a lot of meetings with a lot of associations to improve our
relations with them and to build the basics of mutual cooperation
and to strengthen our relationship to the benefit of the EMRO.

 1st meeting with some of the board members in QUPHS.


 2nd meeting took place with delegates for Dubai University.
 3rd meeting with Mr. Mohamed Mekawy, the President of
EPSF 2007-08 in order for him to share us with his previous
experiences in EPSF and for succession planning.
 4th meeting with Mr. Mohamed Magoury, the IPSF
Publications Chairperson 2008-09 and EPSF Publications
Chairperson 2007-08 to talk with him about IPSF and EPSF
worlds.
 We came to our final meeting with Ajman Scientific
Association official delegate
WOW, we have gained a lot of friends and work partners now!

So, wait for our delegate in the upcoming DUPHAT and wait for their experiences.
