Conducting Fellowship 2014-2015

The Ocala Symphony offers an exciting new opportunity for promising young
conductors to develop their skills and enrich their musical understanding through
personal mentorship and participation in the OSO’s orchestral, educational and
community programs. The selected fellow will serve as Assistant Conductor of the
OSO and will work closely with Artistic Director Matthew Wardell to learn the
different aspects required in directing an orchestral program. The fellowship will
include podium time with the OSO, leadership with the orchestra’s educational
programs, musical and conducting development, and orchestral management
experience.

The OSO fellow will be awarded a $3,600 stipend and will work part-time flexible
hours during the season. The fellowship will run August 19, 2014 through May 10,
2015.

The conducting fellowship will be awarded to one outstanding graduate or

undergraduate student. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV with
references, and one video to mwardell@ocalasymphony.com by Aug. 5.
