Union Galvasteel Corporation was the last company
we visited. At first we were escorted by a young
electrical engineer. He gave us a brief preview of
the company’s background which includes it's
history, products and owners. Union Galvasteel
Corporation assemblies galvanized sheets for
roofing applications. It offers roofing products and
accessories; building systems products; and
industrial products, such as prepainted coils, and GI
coils and sheets. The company was formerly known
as Bacnotan Steel Corporation and changed its
name to Union Galvasteel Corporation in 2000. The
company was founded in 1963 and is based in
Calamba City, the Philippines. The company also
provides pre-painted coils and sheets, and zinc-
coated heavy gage products for commercial and
industrial applications for developers, architects,
contractors, and homeowners. It offers its products
through distributors. Union Galvasteel Corporation.
The different products were rolled and stored in the
warehouses. Some were kept for two long years
just in case there were complains about the
product. As for the process and the equipment that
were used, it's automated wherein products
undergo rolling, flattening, thinning and packaging.
They use heavy transport vehicle to move the
products. The company was really nice and it can be
a good training ground for future chemical
engineers. The plant tour in this company lasted for
2 fruitful hours.As for the first part of the tour, we
were separated into two groups. We went to 2
warehouses wherein they the products are being
manufactured. Of course, for safety precautions as
we need to stay in the green area and not touch
