Basic
Productivity
Tools
Universal
Design
for
Learning
(UDL):
PowerPoint
and
Office
365
provides
students
with
multiple
means
of
representation
by
giving
students
the
content
in
audio
and
visual
formatting.
These
two
tools
also
provide
students
with
multiple
means
of
engagement
where
students
are
able
to
collaborate
with
others
on
creating
their
presentation.
Students
are
able
to
use
their
one
means
of
action
and
expression
of
the
content
by
including
images,
videos,
and
other
forms
of
media
into
their
PowerPoint
presentation.
Allowing
students
to
work
in
small
groups
designated
by
the
teacher
gives
each
group
a
variety
of
skill
levels
in
order
for
students
to
learn
from
one
another
through
the
use
of
different
skills.
Because
the
students
are
able
to
select
the
event
from
Robinson’s
life,
the
students
will
be
more
engaged
and
excited
to
create
their
product.
Lesson
idea
implementation:
In
this
lesson,
the
teacher
will
present
the
E-‐Book
in
a
PowerPoint
presentation
to
the
students
of
the
Life
of
Jackie
Robinson
at
the
beginning
of
the
class.
After
the
E-‐Book
is
presented
to
the
students,
the
students
will
be
placed
in
small
groups.
In
their
groups,
the
students
will
choose
one
event
from
Jackie
Robinson’s
life
and
will
describe
how
he
demonstrated
positive
citizenship
traits
such
as:
honesty,
dependability,
trustworthiness,
honor,
civility,
good
sportsmanship,
patience,
and
compassion.
Students
will
research
the
event
that
was
chosen
by
the
group
as
a
whole
to
find
details
on
how
one
of
the
traits
were
demonstrated.
The
presentations
will
be
presented
to
the
class
on
Friday
of
that
week.
Throughout
the
week,
students
will
collaborate
with
their
group
members
in
creating
their
presentation
through
their
Office
365
account.
Students
will
be
able
to
use
any
of
the
URLs
above,
that
is
shared
with
their
Office
365
account
by
the
teacher.
In
this
lesson
students
are
engaged
in
higher
order
thinking
and
engaged
in
learning
through
analysis
and
application
of
the
content.
Students
are
to
make
their
decision
as
a
group
on
what
event
they
want
to
research
further
and
apply
their
prior
knowledge
with
the
new
knowledge
they
find
in
order
to
describe
how
Robinson
demonstrated
positive
citizenship
traits.
Digital
tools
and
resources
are
used
in
this
lesson
by
the
students
to
carry
out
a
task
that
was
given
to
them
by
the
teacher.
Reflective
Practice:
I
think
this
activity
will
impact
student
learning
because
the
students
are
able
to
create
their
presentation
using
their
own
creativity
and
preference
of
event
they
research.
Allowing
flexibility
with
the
product
will
be
more
engaging
for
the
students.
Students
will
also
be
checking
their
understanding
of
the
character
traits
of
Jackie
Robinson
through
his
life
events.
This
lesson
is
another
part
of
a
whole
unit
on
Georgians
and
Civil
Rights.
Students
will
be
able
to
work
with
a
small
group
to
complete
their
presentation
and
will
be
allowed
to
refer
back
to
their
project
and
material
from
this
lesson
when
creating
a
final
project
at
the
end
of
the
unit.
