“People will want to have their ears tickled…”

I t seems like today everybody has a spin on what God is

trying to tell His people in the Bible. Just turn on the
television and listen to a variety of ministers give their
opinions on what the scriptures reveal.
Watch out for tricky salespeople who might just want to tickle
your ear! And no matter whom you listen to…test it with the
written word before you take it to heart!

On the other side of the fence there are those who are listening
to what the ministers are saying and trying to understand what Check out Randy’s blog on the Warehouse website.
God wants from them. www.vcfleesburg.com
There are those who listen with ears wide open to the find the
truth. Then there are those the Bible describes as wanting to
have their ears tickled by the things they want to hear.

You can go to a car lot and ask the salesman about the true
condition of a used car and then listen to what he has to say. If
you want him to tell you that this is the best value you are going
to find and that it was only driven by a little old lady to church
on Sundays he probably would oblige. If you really desire to
find out the true condition of the automobile it might not be
what you want to hear…but hopefully it is the truth and upon
that you can base your decision.

Scraping away all the opinions, all the interpretations, all the
denominational battling, don’t we want to know the truth about
what God has to say and what He expects from His people?

Do we not want to be hearing the truth and living by the truth in

order to walk in His blessing?

Things we can do:

1. Re-read the Bible.

2. Ask God to reveal to you what He is communicating.
3. Don’t over-work the Word…look for the simple
message our Father is writing to His children.
4. Make a list of the things that He is requiring from us as
you read.
5. Make a commitment to honor these requirements by
living them out.

If I am going to put my family in any car that I purchase, I want

to know the truth about the car before I buy it. I want everyone
to arrive safely to our earthly destinations and ultimately to our
eternal “Heavenly” destination.
Because of your faithful support we were also able to leave a sound

Love – With a Dash of Reality

H ave you ever noticed that certain scriptures have a

particular connotation with them? I mean, if you
mention a scripture, you might envision pictures of the
last supper, the cross, empty tomb, a dove………
Undoubtedly, if I say 1 Corinthians chapter 13, you will see
hand, I have had to ENDURE sick children when there was
nothing I could do to help them. I have endured a terminally
sick mother that I couldn’t help get better. You see, when you
love someone, the love is not contingent on blue skies,
rainbows and fields full of wild flowers always in bloom. Love
something like a heart, wedding or maybe your wedding rings. is more than a warm fuzzy feeling. More often than not, it is a
Most people do because it is the “love” chapter. It makes you choice. You choose to love someone through their hard times
just feel all warm and fuzzy inside, right? If you don’t mind, and hang ups.
allow me to pick some stuff out of that chapter and throw in a This is just some food for thought folks. Make your choice.
little dash of reality and stir it up a little bit. My vows said for richer, for poorer….in good times and bad.
There is a long list of things mentioned in this chapter. CHOOSE to love each other through the good times and BAD!
They are there for a reason because in life, you are almost
certainly going to have some of these feelings and/or situations
that you must work through and deal with.
Patience and kindness are listed together. Have you ever
prayed for patience??? It does not make you a nice or kind
person when you are going through the trials to build your
patience. In fact, sometimes you might even turn into someone
that is downright mean. During these trials, you do not have a
warm fuzzy feeling.
Envy, boasting and pride are grouped together.
Have you ever bought a new boat, house, car or other
large investment and couldn’t find anybody to enjoy it
with? Think back at what you said about those things
to the people that are around you. Maybe they are
tired of hearing you boast and be prideful about that
object. Perhaps it is creating envy in their heart
(perhaps you bought it because of envy in your own
heart). It is easy to be excited about that stuff! Do you
go too far with it? When you have been ostracized
because of your boasting and pride, it does not leave
you with the warm fuzzies.
“It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily
angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs”. So in
other words, you shouldn’t be rude, selfish or short
tempered. Plus, you have to forget the bad things that
people have done to you. Did you hear that??? Bad
things will happen to you. Love does not make you
immune to tough times coming our way. It just helps
you get through them.
As I skip down to the last part I want to discuss, it
says that love ENDURES ALL THINGS! Doesn’t this
hint to you that bad things are happening? I have
never had to ENDURE eating a wonderful steak dinner
(or spinach salad Suzy). That is an easy thing to do. It
does leave you with the warm fuzzies. On the other

that you all remember to pray for one student in particular
named Bhavia. She is only 15 yrs old and she is being hid at

have told some of you of this “pishing village”. Here they had
been training Sunday school workers who will go to various
areas and start up village Sunday schools, which will end up
becoming new church plants. We held a final special training
day, and then awarded all the students their certificates, which
is a huge deal to them. When we left there we had a wild
overnight bus ride where Sarah’s window would not close and
she was entertained all night long by exotic birds, bats and
monkeys. We did one more final training day for another group
of workers who had completed 12 wks of training. Here we
discussed the changing India and how best to reach the
children, the next generation for Christ. Then we spent a
couple days with the children’s director for south India, Pastor
Joseph, who I had the privilege of teaching in bible school,
mentoring several years, then leaving in charge for the district

is a beautiful story of love, self-sacrificial love. The choice to give a child life with

Even as I marvel at Katherine’s love for her son as she prepares to give him life with

we surrender our lives to Christ, He provides a way of adoption into the family of
God.

I want to introduce you to a GIFT DAY this has been done in our church in the UK very successfully.
It is no ordinary giving. It comes about with prayer and faith asking God for guidance.
God wants us to give because he knows how blessed we
will be as we give generously to him and to others.
Giving is a kingdom principle; giving brings even more
Our gift day in the warehouse church is going to be on October 10th. I believe that this date is very blessing to the giver than to the recipient.
significant to our Church. God placed on my heart months ago that the 10th day of the 10th month of the
10th year was a significant date for the Warehouse. I didn’t know why - only that it was important. When we give freely to God, we receive freely from
God.
On returning 2 weeks ago from the UK, I had forgotten about it and just the other day it came flashing
back into my mind along with the 10.10.10 date like a bolt of lightning. I looked up the date and saw it Luke 6:38

fact, the Bible teaches us to give, for our own good and for our own blessing, from a cheerful heart. not be afraid!

This is what the Bible says about giving.

First and foremost, God wants us to give because it shows that we recognize he is truly the Lord of our
lives.

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly
lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Everything we own, everything we have comes from God. So when we give, we simply offer him a very
small portion of all the abundance he has already given to us. Giving is an expression of our
thankfulness and praise to God! It comes from a heart of worship. For everything we give already
belongs to him!

We are blessed when we give.

Acts 20:35
... remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to
receive.

How Can You Believe

T o be a missionary the primary qualification is to take Him with you! To do

so, a well established, intimate, relationship with Him must occur in the
space where you live and breathe and have your being now. In many
ways we, missionaries, become the Ark of the Covenant carrying God where He
wants us to go.
Most believe we are living in a day that has the signs of the “end times”. The
word tells us that men’s hearts will wax cold in these days and that hearts will
grow faint and cold, but we are to bring warmth and hope. “How Can You
Believe?” in such a time as this is a question we must settle in our own hearts, if
we are going to be His ambassadors of hope.
God’s voice spoke clearly to me details regarding the response to this
question. It will take more than one Newsletter to review what He told me, still I
felt motivated to share this preparation dialog with you. Maybe it will create
answers, or maybe more questions, but we will be pondering in our hearts with
Him and there is no place I would rather be. Missionaries let the journey begin.

question that you and I often ask ourselves in the circumstances of our lives.
What if they don’t believe me when I speak what You, God, are telling me?
After several miracles God produced with Moses to cause him and other men
to believe, the heart of Moses was not convinced.
In order for God to produce miracles in us the ground has to be made ready.
Moses believed God was speaking to him. He believed in the miracles He
performed through him. God was willing to take the time required for Moses to
believe! He knew it was good ground and that Moses, though human, knew
God.
For us to believe, we must first know God ourselves! God provides miracles
in each of our lives that bring forth the required fruit to manifest the kingdom of
God in us! You and I know and most of us here today, know that God has
miraculously changed our lives. We may not necessarily think of them as
miracles, and yet we know that without Christ, we were empty vessels. God
came to us, through Christ, and for the first time, we were able to believe enough
even to hope.
Let’s linger here. Let’s hope to believe, indeed ponder in our hearts, “How
Can You Believe?”
