Volunteer Experience
Huntington Memorial Hospital, Pasadena, CA August 2016 – January 2017
Emergency Department Volunteer – Promoted unity between the medical staff in the Emergency Department regularly
for four hours on the weekends by communicating the needs of the staff to each other during busy periods of the
night. Tended to non-medical needs of the patients and their visitors and families, disinfected rooms after patient
use, and shadowed the Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Patient Care Assistants, and Social Workers.
Asian and Pacific American Health Care June 2014 – June 2016
Secretary - Coordinated and led a team of registered nurses, undergraduate pre-health students, and hospital staff to
organize and implement health fairs for underprivileged and linguistically isolated communities throughout
metropolitan Los Angeles.
Research Experience
UCLA School of Nursing September 2014 – July 2017
Research Assistant - Involved with data collection, analysis of qualitative data, utilized content analysis in order to
understand needs among formerly incarcerated, currently homeless women. Collected data in community-based,
Los Angeles research sites (e.g. Skid Row, Downtown Women’s Center, and Amistad de Los Angeles), attended
weekly research staff meetings and research assistant meetings reviewing literature related to homelessness, women,
and incarceration.
Work Experience
Baby Sitter August 2016 – May 2017
Nurtured a newborn baby by offering undivided attention and care to him through cleaning, changing, feeding,
reading to, and playing with him for 30 hours a week.
UCLA Office of Environment, Health and Safety August 2015 – April 2016
Research Assistant - Assessed the safety of UCLA laboratory materials and also trained others to do so. Entered data
into a database, innovated ways to make the job more efficient, and communicated with several Principal
Investigators.
