Group member 1: Hi, I am __________ and this is _________ nods at

presenter 2 and you are watching Waka Waka news. Today, we are doing a
special report on Football as part of a series for the upcoming Youth Olympic
Games held right here, in Singapore. Right now, the teams competing are for
boys in group C, Vanuatu, Bolivia, Haiti and for the boy teams in Group D,
Singapore, Zimbabwe and Montenegro. For girls in group B, Chile, Trinidad
and Tobago and Equatorial Guinea and for the countries involved in Group A,
we have Turkey, Papua New Guinea and lastly, Iran, which have finally been
given the green light by Fifa to compete in the Youth Olympic Games. Iran
had been rumoured to be banned from the Youth Olympic Games even
though this ban had never been officially confirmed.

Group Member 2: Three weeks ago, the deputy head of Iran's physical
education department Marzieh Akbarabadi, who is also in charge of all
women's sports in the country, rejected the team's jerseys, calling them
"inappropriate".

This led to concerns that the Iranian team, who have been drawn in Group A
with Turkey and Papua New Guinea, might not take part in the Games.
The new attire, consisting of a cap, long-sleeved thick tops, below-knee
trousers and long stockings. They were created as a compromise between
Fifa and Iran’s National Olympic Committee.

Group Member 1: The alterations were made after a Fifa-imposed

international ban on Iran's YOG team in April. The team had insisted on
continuing to play in their traditional hijab headscarves. Even though Fifa's
rules stipulate that attire and equipment must not have any political, religious
or personal statements.

Group member 2: Meanwhile, Fifa confirmed that Haiti will be the sixth team
in the YOG boys' football tournament.

This was disclosed by the Football Association of Singapore deputy general

secretary P. Sivakumar.

Group member 1: Yeah, their participation has brought to an end weeks of

anxiety for hosts Singapore, who were left waiting on the country to represent
the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association
Football

Cuba were originally slated to represent Concacaf but withdrew from the
football tournament, choosing their boys' volleyball team to participate in the
Games instead due to the maximum of one boys’ and one girls’ teams for the
team-sports event at the Games
Group Member 2: Now, we have invited a special, guest, ________ who is
representing Singapore in the Youth Olympic Games to tell us a little more
about the sport.

Group Member 1: So, Mr __________ how do you feel about this whole Youth
Olympic Games thing?

Group Member 3:I’m really really piped up for the Youth Olympic Games, and
I’m just really honoured to be able to represent Singapore in this event, It feels
really great to be part of the games, I mean, I feel kind of like I’m making
history! Laughs. My Teammates and I have been training really hard at
Jurong East and Choa Chu Kang stadium, and we have tried out many
formations. I’m going to give it my all and I really hope I’d be able to bring
pride and glory to Singapore!

Group Member 2: I’m sure you’ll do our country proud. Smiles. Will you tell us
more about the formations in football?

Group Member 3: Yeah, sure. There are many formations in football, so I’m
going to tell you about two of the most popular, the 4-4-2 and the 3-5-2.

The 4-4-2 is the most common and adaptable formation in modern football. In
this formation, the midfielders are required to work hard to support both the
defense and the attack. Typically one of the central midfielders is expected to
go up field as often as possible to support the forward pair, while the other will
play a "holding role," shielding the defense; the two wide midfield players
must move up the flanks to the goal line in attacks and yet also protect the
fullback wide defenders. However, the weakness of 4-4-2 is the gaps between
the central defenders, midfielders and the strikers. As such, a huge burden is
placed on the central midfield to augment defense and attack.
Group Member 2: Cool, how about formation 3-5-2?

The 3-5-2 is one of the modern formations in soccer today and is primarily
associated with German soccer. The formation had it biggest popularity during
the 1990 world cup in Italy where Germany won the whole competition. The
system was also practiced successfully during the European Cup, held in
1996 by Germans. It is an offensive variation of the 5–3–2, which has three
central defenders and is heavily reliant on the wing-backs providing width for
the team. The two wide full-backs act as wing-backs. It is their job to work
their flank along the full length of the pitch, supporting both the defense and
the attack except that the two wingmen are oriented more towards the attack.
Because of this, the central midfielder tends to remain further back in order to
help prevent counter-attacks. Many teams also use a central attacking
midfielder and two defensive midfielders, so the midfielders form a W
formation.

Group Member 2: That’s very interesting, try to be genuine. We are very glad
that you were able to stop by at our studio today, ________.Thank you for
your time and (add your own whatever shit luhh)
