first column.
Questions to Answer:
The biological significance of the flower is one of the important parts of the plant which is the
productive organ. It attracts birds and insects to assist in pollination and the source of food. Humans can
enjoy almost every aspect of flowering plants. Their fragrances and colors are stimulating to the senses,
they produce abundant food from most every part, and many flowering plants even have medicinal
properties. Flowering trees produce wood for crafting and building. Many animals that depend on
flowering plants are edible for humans as well. Flowering plants provide most of our food crops, and as
a result are of enormous economic importance.
Economic significance of a flower produce abundant food from most every part, and many
flowering plants even have medicinal properties. Flowering trees produce wood for crafting and
building. Many animals that depend on flowering plants are edible for humans as well. Even ancient
angiosperms that lived long before humans are advantage to us, since they became fossil fuels that
power human technology. Flowers also are significant to animals like for instances, Hummingbirds feed
on the sweet nectar of flowering plants. The flowers of angiosperms offer nectar to both bats and birds.
Grazers may eat the blooms of grassland flowers and benefit from the chemical complexities found in
flower petals. But the rest of the flowering plant is also usually edible. The leaves of flowering grasses
are graze able, the fruits produced by angiosperms are sweet and delicious to many herbivores and
omnivores, and the roots feed digging and tunneling animals.
Yes, flower is very important in crop improvement because flower bears reproductive organ
specifically the inflorescence, which the inflorescence/inflorescence archeticture is the arrangement
of flowers and their underlying stem branching patterns, and it has important effects on the yield of
the fruits or grains from agricultural plants. Simply, flowers are one of the major materials in the
procedures of crop improvement process. Without the presence of flowers. Plant breeders are not
able to perform cross-pollination in crop improvement process which to develop desirable varieties
and can carry out hybridization program to induce desirable traits.
3. As an agriculture student, how would you use the knowledge you have learned from the
past three exercises with respect to your own field of interest (major field)?
The Principles and Practices in Plant Breeding propagation and Nursery Management. Through
this subject, and as an agriculture student I'm able to know and aware to have a wide knowledge about
the background of propagation and nursery management which is essential for us particularly in our
majors because it serves as one of the components that will help to our own field interest. As an
agriculture student, I use my knowledge that I have learned from the past three exercises in a way of
identifying the morphology and physiology of the different plant crops specifically the agronomic crops.
Through the knowledge that I have learned, I now able to identify and determine the different
morphology of crops like for instances, their leaves, flowers and etc. which helps me to identify their
classification on where they belong. And it serves as advantage in my major, the agronomy major
because I already know the functions of plant parts in crops which guide me on how to grow the crops
productively. And I'm able to identify the different varieties and classifications of agronomic crops
through to their morphology.
