Executive summary

I have made a lot of struggle to complete the internship in HBL. Because theoretical work is not a

importance until we have not done the work practical. Our all effort will incomplete whenever we have

not convert this studies in to practical work. I am a student of B. com (hons) at University of Gujrat in 7 th

semester and I did the internship in HBL bank to learn how we practically done in professional job. I have

done my six weeks internship in Habib bank limited Branch in Wazirabad near kachehry. I have divided

my internship report into two different parts. Firstly part consists about the organization from where we

did internship work.in first part also describe the history of Habib bank limited, nature of organization,

and different services are providing to its customer.HBL achievement and rewards are mentioned in first

part of the internship report. Introduction of all departments are also described in first part.

In the last part of the internship report includes all those activities which we are done during my internee

work. Introduction of the organization where I got internship also describe about the supervisor of my

internee work. Weekly time table, swot analysis, conclusion and recommendation are described in last

part of the report.

Introduction:

As a student of B.com(hons) there are necessary for all those students of business administration at

university have complete a six weeks internship report in any organization like banks, communication

companies ,beverages companies, textiles sectors etc. Therefore I have done six weeks internship in HBL

main Branch Wazirabad. After the completion of internship there will be necessary for students to submit

the internship report in soft form in the department and also submitted a hard copy of that report. And

from this report the panel take viva and there will be your responsibility to appear before that panel.HBL

is more stable than other banks and major competitors of HBL in Wazirabad. Like UBL, NBP,MCB etc.it

have also more number of branches in Pakistan and Wazirabad than any other banks.Hbl is providing

more number of line of services to its customer than National bank of Pakistan and other private banks

that are operated in Pakistan and in Wazirabad HBL main branch consists of twelve members that work

daily.

1.Overview of HBL:

1.2.1History:

Habib bank limited was established in 1947 in Bombay (Mumbai) then the head quarter shifted to

Karachi and started its operation in Pakistan properly. And now this time Hbl is the leading bank of

Pakistan in privates’ banks that are operated in Pakistan. Hbl is also providing more services to its

customer as compares to others banks. More preferable and safe bank for the customer. This bank also

providing services across the country like in Singapore, oman,Usa et.Habib bank become a largest

domestic branch of Pakistan and its network also increasing day by day.at the end of last year it has more

than 1500 branches and more than 1000 ATM machines at different places of the country and Kashmir

region. And also increasing its operation other countries. Habib bank also achieved many awards in last 5

years.in 2014 it got the awards of most safe bank of the Pakistan. Habib bank 40% share domestic that are

more from any other private bank.

The Bank's towering presence in Pakistan's financial and commercial life has remained unchanged over

the decades. The strength of its brand and image is symbolized by its prominent Head Office building that

has dominated Karachi's skyline for35Years. Habib Bank. imited (HBL), in its current location, it has a

long and rich history. It was all this possible at the expense of continuing efforts. In 1841, a family owned

company was founded as the Khoja Mithabhai NATO in Bombay, which has been dealing in the steel

sector within and outside the Indian sub-continent

In 1891, a young Muslim Lad Habib Ismail go a job t in this company and due to his hard continuous

hard work at the age of 18 he became the president of the company. He has four children named Ahmad

Habib, Muhammad Ali Habib, Daud Habib, and Ghulam Ali Habib. When the children grown up and

complete their education they were induced in the company’s business which was named as Habib & sons

later. Habib Ismail died in 1928 at the age of 53.

After the death of their father, the four sons take care of the whole business. Mohammad Ali Habib was

younger and rank third in the age but was the most intelligent among his brothers and a successful

businessman. At that time there was no Muslim Bank in the Sub-Continent. Habib family established the

first financial institution of the Muslims with the name of “Habib Bank Limited” on the 25th August

1941.

In the 1950s, the HBL started its international banking by opening its branches in other countries. In the

year of 1951HBL opens its first branches in Sri Lanka and then two more branches were opened in Sri

Lanka. Then in the year of 1956 HBL opens its first of five branches in Kenya.

Habib Bank moved its headquarters to Karachi, which was the Pakistan’s first capital, at the influence of

Governor General Jinnah. This gives Karachi its first commercial bank of the newly formed Pakistan. The

Habib family own and manage the bank until the Pakistan government nationalized it on 1 January 1974.

 Firstly Hbl opened a branch in Aden in 1958


 After the first branch in 1961 anther branch opened first six branches in the UK.
 Then hbl was opened the first of its 4 branches in Mauritius and a branch in Beirut.
 1966 Habib bank opens its first branch in United Arab Emirates (UAE) and then 5 more branches

ware opened in UAE after some time.


 1969 HBL opened the first of 3 branches and an OBU in Bahrain. However, HBL’s branch in

Aden was nationalized.


 1971 Hbl opened a branch in Singapore and New York.
 Hbl opened its one of 11 branches in Oman in the year 1972.Habib bank limited construct Habib

plaza in Karachi to celebrate its 25 anniversary

HBL closed operations in England in 2002 because of regulatory issues with the Financial Services

Authority. The issue is resolved by transforming the operations of a subsidiary. Then Habib Bank

participates 6 branches with the bank allies who share his 4 branches and the banks of the merger together

and formed Habib Allied International Bank in any Habib Bank was carrying 90.5% of the shares of the

bank and holds the Allies share of 9.5% in the United Kingdom (England).Allied Habib bank had shifted

their operation in New York, they closed their operation activites in United Kingdom under the name of

Habib- Allie International bank. Habib bank got the permission to open a branch in Afghanistan in the

year 2003.

HBL is the largest bank in banking sectors of Pakistan and azad Kashmir with more than 1500 branches

and more than 1000 atm machines at different location in the country and Kashmir region.. HBL is the

most stable and fastest banks transaction in Pakistan. Habib bank Limited’s slogan “Jaha Khawaab Wahan

HBL” means if you have dream in your life then Habib bank will help you to achieve these dreams and

change into reality.

2. Nature of the organization:

Habib bank is providing various types of services to its customer. Like credit cards services, debit cards,

Atm cards etc. Customer also transfer their funds from one place to another very quickly.it working in

bank. Habib bank a lot of services to its customers to meets their needs carefully. For example, account

opening, credit cards, debit cards, atm card, loaning schemes e.g. employee loan, student loan etc.

Customer also transfer funds to different places by using the facilities and services given by the hbl. Bank

also providing the facility to their customer to deposits their utility bill expenses.

Habib bank is consider as the leading bank in private banks that are working in Pakistan and Gujranwala

region. Customer satisfy by deposits cash .because it is more secure bank in all privates’ banks in

Pakistan. This bank have many branches than other private banks that are working in Pakistan. Now

presently the 40% market share are the Pakistan. The 55% share are the foreign remittances Habib bank is

the most stable bank of Pakistan Their assets are also goods.habi bank also provided more services than

other banks.it has more than 1500 branches and more than 1000 ATM machines that are located in all

over Pakistan and Wazirabad 55 branches across the country. From the last 5 years Habib bank achieved

consecutive awards that show the progress of the bank. Last awards that are achieved by the bank was in

2014, because it was emerging bank of Pakistan and best trader of finance and safe bank of Pakistan.in

2013 the bank was awarded different awards according to their performance, that are following best

foreign exchange of the Pakistan. Best trade of finance and best Islamic window.in 2012 the bank was

awarded five awards that are the best trades of finance, best emerging bank, most stable bank of Pakistan

in all most valuable awards was that state bank awards also given to this bankcards of home remittances

In 2011 Habib bank won the awards of world’s best trade of finance bank in Pakistan. And the other

award is leading bank.

2.2Product &services line:

Although the Habib bank is the leading bank among privates banks. Therefore providing more products

and services than any other bank. Bank also providing the facility of ATM machines. Although the Habib

services to its customers most than any other bank in Pakistan Although the Habib Bank is the leading

Pakistan to their clients. Habib Bank Limited is to provide ATM services to its customers across the

country, and also in Kashmir region.

2.3Pest analysis of Habib bank limited:

It is most important instrument of the management for any business to create a better customer service to

achieve organization objectives and goals. Because now in that era technology rapidly change the

environment therefore competition increases at global level between the international companies to meet

the diversification needs of customer. For markets completion meet the buyer interest and need and used

micro competition. Therefore there are many factors that affect the result of companies to meet these

needs of customers that are factors as follow.

2.2.2Political environment:

There are many political factors that affect the companies’ progress towards achieving their goals and

meet customer needs and wants. These political factors include political instability, new government

applying new terms and conditions on the companies that must follow to operate in the country therefore

companies restricted in there operation that effect their progress

These are the objectives of the banks that must follow to secure in that type of envoirment

Protection of banking imbalanced competition in the market

Protection of interest of society.

2.2.1Economic environment:

There is most important factor of any organization the economic conditions. Any country Eco my

describe its stability but we are live in Pakistan in which every government imply its own policies in

Pakistan tax rate increase day by day which weak the economy stability ,because the previous

government imply most tax almost 21% but the present government decreases the tax rate and now

become at 7% of state bank rate.

Present government economic position a little is better than previous government but there is also a main

problem with that government that because this govt taking loan from IMFin very huge amount that is the

record amount in Pakistan histry.in reality the intrest rate decrease not beneficially for the bank but the

other hand country economic position stable and more people come in the markets for investment.

2.2.3Social environment:

A society is established on the norms, values, belief that are most meaningful for any society. People

interact with the society while through sensible and insensible, individual, organization, company etc. For

the banking sectors there will be most important to study the norms and values of the society and operate

their business according to that norms. Because we prepare the report on the hbl therefore we studied

about their opertaions.habib bank operates across the country therefore necessary for the hbl to learn the

norms and values of that country that involve demograghic,ages,how much percentage of young and

old ,age groups of married and unmarried people although the hbl is leading institution in almost all over

the Pakistan and also in Kashmir hbl is the most stable and safe bank and its branches are more than other

banks in azad Kashmir region particular in Muzaffarabad. There is a reason that why people prefer to

open a account in HBL because every one easily access to hbl banks

2.2.4Technological environment:

Technology is the key factor for any institution because it has great effect on the people lives. The

technology changes people living standard also increase the completion between banks and other

instituting all over the wordlike in past in banks the manual system use4d when technology not

occure.now there is the facility of internet and all small and main branches started with operation through

internet.it is the technology that in past every bank should maintain the ledger of each transaction on daily

bases now this task done by the head office. On side technology easy the work but there is also increases

risk.in Muzaffarabad hbl used better technology to full fill the needs of their customer.

2.2.4Contribution of the organization towards economic development:

We know that there is a strong relation between economic and financial sector that performance effect on

the development of any organization. The countries which have strong economy position that nation are

more flourished and developed. These performance of the country only achieved if our banking sector

will be strong if not than these country go into the back. Habib bank is the largest banking sectors than

any other private banks that are operating in Pakistan .therefore this bank providing more than 1600

branches in Pakistan and across the country. Habib bank have a leading assets as compare to other banks.

Because Habib bank investing their finance in indirect projects like loan, and take the profits on that loan

that are the reason Habib bank involved to strong the economic position of the country.it is another task

2.4 Introduction of departments:

Every organization has some Departments either it is manufacturing or service organization providing

organization. This department works independently for achieving the organizational. Like there are many

Departments in Habib Bank Limited which are as fellow.

2.4.1Deposits department:

Deposits are very important for the banking sector like the back bone of the bank. Banks in this section

take money from the individual and public institutions accept the payment and then after that when the

check is drawn on them. People deposit extra money in banks used their money for different purposes like

made loaned are giving loan for different purposes and then depositors pay some amount of money as

interest / profit. Whenever the customer want money he draw the cheque and get the money bank, and the

banking pay money to depositors. For this purpose the depositors to open an account in this bank in

particular.

2.4.2Cash department:

The cash department linked with the cash collection their task is to collect the money from the customer

and payback to the customer whenever he want to draw the money for this purpose he should write the

chqeue and drawn the money from the bank. This department is responsible to secure the money of the

customer and payback at the time with intrest rate whenever the account holder required the cash.

2.4.3Clearing department:

That department responsibility to manage the cheques that are deposits by the customer which include the

bank branch cheque and other banks .which the customer deposits in their accounts. These all cheques

cleared through the NIFT.because this organization task to collect the cheques off all branches and clear

after the permission of prescribed branches.

This institution worked under the state bank of Pakistan.e.g the MCB cheque deposits the customer in the

his account that is opened in HBL bank then this cheque will be clear through the NIFT and after the

clearing from Clearing is the department whose is responsible for the clearing the cheque i.e. if a person

submits a check of MCB in Habib bank limited the clearing department of Habib bank will send this

cheque to NIFT and if NIFT clears the cheque then Habib bank will be responsible pay to that particular

person. NIFT is an institution which clears the cross cheque i.e. cheque of MCB drawn on Habib Bank

limited will be cleared by NIFT and clearing department of the bank will send that cheque to NIFT and

receive and then pay to that person.

2.4.4Remittances department:

That department resplonsilbilty of transferring the funds from one bank to another. Now presently every

bank that are working in Pakistan and all over the worlds trying to provide this facility its customer.so this

facility is more beneficial for the customer because this saves a lot of time the customer.in this era time is

the most important thing in our lives. Every one become busy in their tasks, and not a little bit time for

deposits and receives itself. Habib bank is largest remittances provider in the Pakistan than others bank to

its customer.

2.4.5Finance department:

This department has more value in any organization. Because it is responsible for allocating the resources

from the customer, loan borrower etc. This is the back bone of banks.an organization will be more strong

if their finance department performance good. This department raised the funds whenever bank require to

execute their tasks. Habib bank have the stable and strong finance department that is the reason it is the

leading banks in all privates banks.

2.4.6Human resource department:

That department have its own value for organization/banking sector. This department has responsibility

providing the labor force to organization for the purpose of executing the operations. That department hire

the employees for their organization.by the process of recruiting, selecting and retaining and from this

process select the best one employees for organization. That are beneficially for the organization in future.

Because we selected that employees that exist in the market and also aware the usage of

technology.theirfore the Hbl also have a department of human resource to compete in the markets.

Every business want to hire the best employees that are profitable for the organization and give good

response. Sometimes hbl require the employees for the bank they give the responsibility to their human

resource department to hire the best employees that work efficiently to achieve the organization goals

and objectives. This department used different policies to hire the employees. Which are done firstly

through add. On this the job criteria mentioned. This add. Include all things that are necessary for the

employees like qualification, experience, skills and knowledge etc.

2.4.7Marketing department:

That department purpose to promote the organization brand image in the customer mind. The main

purpose marketing department to manage the profitable customer relationship.markiting department

purpose to collect the authenticate information about where the new branch opened, while there is any

need of that bank in that area. For collection of these information there are many process used like

survey,interview,observatuion,etc.markintingdepartmentthe4psproduct,price,place,promotion.this

department also duty check the customer needs and wants fulfill by this branch or not.

2.4.8Comments on HBL structure:

Habib bank head by the chairman and further made a board of directors that set the goals and objectives

of the organization. There are most senior executive vice president, vice president, assistant vice

president, who promote and implement the stratigies.and the further the clerical and non-clerical staff.

Each task and responsibility elaborate with detail to every member of board of director.

Every member put his whole effort to achieving the organization goals and objectives. Habib bank is the

leading bank in all banks in private sector. The Habib bank has more assets and stable bank because it

providing more product and services to their customer’s also see in treat main branch of HBL in

Wazirabad there will be no proper time for launch for the employees and rest during the namza jumma.

2.5 Internee work:

It is second portion of my report. Which is most important part of our internship report.in this section the

internee mentioned all the work and activities perform during the internship?

I have done my six weeks internship in Habib bank main branch of Wazirabad that are situated in

Kachehry choak Sialkot road of the city. There are also many other banks situated in the same area like

MCB, UBL, NBP etc. Therefore all branches in that area are known as bank road branches The branch

building is new. But it is double story the upper floor deal with loan activities with Manager room while

the ground floor consists of cashier, Operational manager and the money stock room. The branch consists

of almost sixteen persons included four securities guards and also a person from Jubli insurance company.

This branch is more than 12 years old. The deposits of this branch are more than other banks and HBL are

most safe bank for the customer. There will be easily access to this bank of the people and they easily

submitted their utilities bills, scom, and others. This branch of HBL providing all facilities and services to

its customer.

My internship supervisor was the manager and remittances employee of the bank and the name of the

manager is Sarfraz Ahmad and the remittances employee Naveed Ahmad it is also supervisor of my

internee work. The age of my supervisor is 48years old. I prefer to do the internship in that branch of

HBL because it is the main branch of Wazirabad therefore its resources are more than the other small

branches and its safety of customer resources are more. I selected that branch there are more knowledge

to learn for me. He is a good and cooperative person and their behavior and attitude with us are very

good. He is a good guardian for us because he guide me in every activities of the institution. He guide me

how practical work done in professional job.

2.5.3Weekly time table:

I have done different activities given to me during my internship period. This branch is the main branch

of the Wazirabad therefore a lot of work done daily. There are many transaction occure on daily. Much

time consumes to deal the customer. Because now a days different cheque of different branches deposits

to the customer accounts. The branch is main so there are many cheque deposits on daily bases the

weekly time table on which I have performed work during six weeks internship.

I have worked different departments during my internship period. Account department loaning,

remittances department, clearing department, finance department, human resource management

department. General department almost these are all department work in that branch there also many

banks that work under Hbl bank they done their transaction through Hbl so I prefer to work in all

departments to get knowledge about that departments and practical work. Therefore in that branch

sometimes many customers came for that transaction in this situation the supervisor assign tasks to done

so I performed that tasks carefully. The manager and the operational manager only handled the tasks

outside the bank and if problem faced by the management they solve that problem. This is the main

branch of bank in city so there are all departments work to meet the customer needs with efficiently.

2.5.4Activities I performed in different department:

2.5.4.1Deposits Department:

Deposits department is most important part for any bank or financing institution because people deposits

money which they have in large amount or when they have money in spares. After the collection of this

amount the bank give interest on that amount after a period. Because the bank utilizes that amount in

other projects to generate money from that investment. The bank also uses that amount by another

purpose like giving loan to the people and charge amount against money. After a time whenever they need

they draw the money from the bank with interest.in this also different kinds of customer who have

different demands on their deposits some want interest with high rate and some want interest in low rate.

whenever the customer want money they draw the money through cheque.but this facility only given to

the current account holder not saving account holder because if they want money before the fix date then

the interest will be low.

It is most important department of financial organization. The deposit department takes money from the

people who have money in huge amount and these people want to deposits in banks for taking intrest on

it. After a time whenever they need they draw the money from the bank with interest.in this also different

kinds of customer who have different demands on their deposits some want interest with high rate and

some want interest in low rate. whenever the customer want money they draw the money through

cheque.but this facility only given to the current account holder not saving account holder.

There are two main types that are as follow:

1) Current account

2) Saving account

2.5.4.1.1Current account:

Normally current account used companies. Businesses firms etc. because there is no term and condition to

draw the cheque in the current type account. But there is some charges on the current account means that

your amount cannot be decrease from the average amount on monthly bases if the amount less from the

average amount then the account holder bear the penalty of RS.60.

If the account holder cannot increase the balance in the next month then this penalty also imply further

and so even the customer the deposits the money in the account. When the all amount in your account

deducted and your balance reached minus then after six month your account will be blocked. There is no

deduction of zakat on the current account. The code of current account is 03 at the last of each account

holder number. There will be no profit gain by the customer from the current account.

2.5.4.1.2Saving account:

The saving account is used by people who want to get profit on their cash. The saving account code is 01

at the last digits of each account. There are deduction of zakat on the saving account with a particular

percentage that are implemented by the govt. only zakat percentage is deducted no other conditions imply

on the saving account.

2.5.4.1.3 Freedom account:

This type of account is opened with a minimum amount of 25000 rupees and this averages amount cannot

be decreases from 25000 rs. If decrease then the account holder bear the charges on it.beacuse on freedom

account the bank provides a lot of facility to its customer like if the customer deposits cash in his account

then the bank cannot take the charges on that deposits but the government tax only deducted on that

deposits. Because instead of freedom account other every deposits the account holder bears the charges of

348 rs. This is online account.

Freedom account holder get the cheque book, ATM card and cheque transfer free. Other type of account

holder endures the charges of 580 rupees for the transfer of cheque across the city but local cheque

transfer free means the cheque that are transfer to the same city where the bank operated for all type of

account. Always keep in mind whenever you done the entries of account of any persons first of all done

the entry of debit and then the entry of credits.

2.5.4.2Cash department:

That department responsibility to manage cash and counter of the bank. This department responsibility to

collect the cash from the people from the people, account holder, etc. And treat differently like the

account holder cash credit its account and other person deposits money for different purposes it may

deposits money to pay its utilities bill, telephone bills, challan etc. and it may be deposits money to the

other person account. When the account holder deposits cash in his account the employee credits its

account and when the person require the money they will write the cheque and take the money from the

bank. After taking the money from the bank its account will be debited.

2.5.4.3Clearing department:

This department responsibility to deal the cheque of the customers. For example if a person deposit the

cheque of NBP, ALLIED, UBL etc. Then this cheque given to employee of NIFT (national institutions

facilitation technology) this person give that cheque to the prescribed bank. After the clearing from that

branch the NIFT clear that cheque when this institution clear the cheque then there will be no the excuse

behind to credit the account the next day the total detail of clearing cheque and bouncing cheque NIFT

send through their agent in prescribed branch.

There will be the future detail of clearing the cheques. When bank impose cross stamp on the cheque then

this cheque now in the custody of bank .and this cheque will remain the piece of paper for the account

holder after imposing the crossing stamp on it.some cheques clear and credit on the same day but only

those branches which have the member of same day. The other important thing is that the same day

cheque only credit if the branch is operated in same city not across the city.sameday cheque charges are

also more than other than other cheques and amount also above from 100,000.because I do the internship

inWazirabad then the same day cheque only accepted and credits of that city banks cheque not across the

city. But overall same day cheque most critical account because its account number start from the 0042

means this account opened in head office branch Karachi. This type of cheque immediately punching

before the NIFT employee came in the bank. If you not punching the cheque before the NIFT worker

came then the problem raised for the prescribed department due to not credits the account same day.one

thing always kept in mind that first debit the account and then credits the other account

2.5.4.4Remittances department:

That department directly linked with the state bank and other banks this department performed the duties

of transfer funds of the customer from one place to other in Pakistan. now a days because technology

increases.in that branch where I worked the remittances officer is Naveed Ahmad. There are two kinds of

remitenecs.one is inward remittances which include the transaction that occur from foreign to Pakistan

.the people worked across the country when they transfer money in Pakistan that remittances are called

inward remittances another types is transferring of funds in Pakistan from one city to another.

2.5.4.4.1Demand draft:

This draft mostly used by the persons which have no account in the bank. Because this is used for

different purposes like in Wazirabad demand draft made by different persons on different charges by the

people if we make demand draft for education purpose then charges will the 25 rupees on 20000rs

demand draft. If other purpose like if a business man made the demand draft then its cost will be different

according to the requirement of the customer. Because the business man demand draft in lacs. If not

generated for education purposes then the person bears different charges on 100000 demand draft will be

RS.580 . if more than 100,000 then the charges will be RS.1200.

2.5.4.5 Account opening Tasks:

There is a form that is generated by the banks for the applicant who want to open an account in the bank.

The person who want to open account fill that form and signed on that form and attach the CNIC copy.

After opening the account in bank, then the bank issue a cheque book to that account holder that is

received by the account holder after a one week through that cheque book the person drawn the cheque to

take money that is deposited by him. There are different requirements for account opening the normal

account opening require RS.1000.

And some require different amount so it depend upon the account holder.in that 1000 the bank issue the

cheque book. Different document require for opening account.it depend upon the account holder interest

either the account is individual, mutual account, joint account,etc.the required document that are

necessary to open account that described below attested copy of the CNIC, a copy of the passport also

requires a copy of the document property

Certificate of business that you have started in the long PLCs.

Board of Directors passed the certification decision. Letter of work who wish to open an account in a term

that had been employed anywhere. Partnership speech-generating companies in business start time, form

that contains the signature and seal the members of the Board of Directors.

2.5.6Task that I am performed during internship period:

2.5.6.1Account opening form:

There is the first step on the form is the name of the branch mentioned. The account holder name in short

term and then the code of branch mentioned on the form. Then the date written when the account opened.

And there is also a blank space portion where the write name of mother. The type of account also

mentioned from where the customer select the account which is preferable for him. There is also a

column in which mentioned the about the existing account that the account holder have or not in the

HBL.in a basic type of account you only done two transaction with no cost in a day.in the current account

there are some limitation on drawn the money from the bank.

But if you have any emergency then a particular percentage on drawing the money deducted you have

received money with low inters rate. The value account of the Habib bank only particular customer used

because they received some extra benefits from this account but this type of account cannot use every

because some condition implemented on that account .not decrease the balance from 25000. The tittle of

account i written. There are different aspects about the account that is the name of the customer and it

can be the name of the business and corporation as well .after the complete analysis of form then we have

mentioned what type of account to open either he wants to open individual, business ,joint account,

partnership ,trustee account and business account. Then type of account has been mentioned either what

is the type of account that open current account then he further have to mention either he wants to open

the current or saving account have student account or current account. In basic banking account there

will be no charges but there are some conditions on drawing the cheque that made two transaction per

day.

While in current account will be restriction on the transaction but there is a requirement that the depositor

must have to maintain a minimum level of amount in his account. If the applicant wants to open a saving

account he then also have to mention what type of account he wants to open in the saving account. In PLS

saving account bank pay interest to applicant on the semiannually basis and also deduct the amount in

face of zakat. There is no restriction in depositing and withdrawing. In HBL value account more profit is

paid to the customers and profit is paid after three months but the customer have to maintain the amount

of 10,000 at any time in his account.

2.5.6.2 Filling Deposit slips:

Through deposit slip the bank maintain the record of deposits. There is two pages one page bank collected

and the copy of that slip given to the customer on stamping on that carbon paper with the signature of

employee. The code of hbl is 0422 that are written below the name of account holder coulumn.then select

the currency column while the customer deposit the money in which currency. Then after the selection of

currency then the next column will be the amount.

Written the customer deposits. In term of money or in cheque. Then on the right side of that column there

are written the total amount deposits or cheque balance. Then the next is the name of depositor, its contact

number and CNIC number written and take the sign of depositors and then the remittances department

officer put the branch stamp on it and signed on the carbon copy and return to persons.

2.5.6.3Filling transfer slip:

This slip normally used when the customer want to transfer funds from one account to another transfer

slip also same to the deposits slips. The difference is that in deposits slip we should be write down the

account holder name account number and branch name but in transfer slip only difference is that we

follow the instruction that describe on the form and according to that condition we transfer our funds. For

example if a person A transfer funds to the other person B then the A must attach cheque and deposits slip

together.

2.5.6.4Cheque book requisition slip:

When a person opened a account in bank then after the completion of account opening form the bank

issued a check book through which the person drawn the money from the bank whenever he need. This

cheque book generated by the head office that are received by the customer after one or two weeks. For

cheque book requiting the account holder fill a slip. Different things mentioned on the slip about the

customer like date, account number, and also mentioned in which currency you are deposited in your

account. The cheque book issued on the bases of data. This data only kept for the purpose of record.

2.5.6.5Additional request form:

This form is used when the applicant wants changing in its account. The account holder fill the form. First

of all customer name and account number mentioned .then in the next column that is more valuable

column that is mother’s name where you write the full name of your mother then the next column is the

language. While he used English or Urdu language.reseidencey of the customer take his CNIC number

must also be written on the form. As will be stated CNIC has expiration date with his nationality.

It is written about him also the social situation in the model. Also noteworthy in the form of his career

with the e-mail address. Then also collect the account, which also includes remember that the account

number is in the form of the new account details. Then in the service request if the applicant wants to

have a debit or credit card he must have to tick one of the boxes given on the form. If the applicant wants

to change his address he has to mention his previous and new address with the city name. He also has to

provide the post code and telephone number. Then in the service request if the applicant wants to have a

debit or credit card he must choose one of the boxes on the form, a certain provider. If the applicant wants

to change his speech, he declared that his previous and new name with the city.

It also has to provide a zip code and phone number. If a person signed on the cheque and the cheque lost

and he want to block it for this he should provide the number of cheque, amount and date. If the customer

want to change their signature he select the box of signature and signed the new signature.

2.5.6.6Remittances application:

This application form is used for the purpose transfer funds from one place to another or from one bank to

another. For the first time for all applicants have to write a number of branch and the date at the top of the

message in DDMMYYYY format. If the applicant wants to transfer funds in the form of cash and any

progress at the time of the transfer of money and so we will write in cash and if you already have a bank

account and provides an option then we will send the number.Aplicant's account number is written and

the currency you want to transfer funds in rupees, dollars, euros or pounds selected. Then, the total

amount is written in numbers and words also. Then the information about the recipient is collected and

written. First of all your name and address written in the application form. And it will provide your URL

and CNIC number and must be in writing. Bank name and branch of the mentioned with the branch code

and the name of the city also. Furthermore, information on the applicant has been collected may include

your name, address, CNIC, and source of income. Or the money belongs to his salary, rent,. Or other

works. Mention the purpose of the transfer is also in final form from the date written back.

2.5.6.7Cost Memorandum:

This is used when the customer want to transfer funds through online that facility provided by mostly

banks of Pakistan.in this form complete detail of beneficially mentioned. His name and account number

are most important than any other information. If the applicant has no account in the bank then in this

situation the applicant’s CNIC mentioned and copy of CNIC also attached for online transfer fund

2.5.6.8How to issue the check book to the customer:

When the cheque book delivered from head office to the bank. And the customer want the cheque book

the employee verify the original id card of the person, and giving them cheque book. From this the

customer draw the money whenever wants. The freedom account holder get the free cheque book.thier

will be no charges of cheque book and transfer local cheque in bank account.

2.5.6.9How issue ATM card:

When the bank received the card .then its responsibility to inform customer. But now a days a message

received by the customer if any activity occur in the account of the employees. There are different kinds

of ATM on customer demand like in one type of ATM you only draw 20000 rs. At a time another ATM

you drawn the amount of 50000 rs it depends upon your account.

2.4.6.10Clearing process:

though the Habib bank limited is the main branch of Wazirabad so a lot of customer was coming for

different purposes like deposits cheque, cash, pay utilities bills,etc.so the everyday become a crowed in

the bank particularly on the last dates and starting days of the month. Because in this branch there are

different account opened like S.COM (special communication organization), POLICE, OLD AGE

BENIFITS,, ZAKAT ACCOUNT, some TRUSTEE ACCOUNT also opened in this branch.so a lot of

customer was coming in the bank I was only experience of one month during the internship so at this

situation the supervisor gave different task that I performed very well.

After receiving the cheque of the Habib bank branches, and other branches like MCB, NBP, and UBL

theses cheque send to the prescribed branch for clearing through the agent of NIFT(national institutions

facilitation technology) that work under the STATE BANK. The agent of NIFT collect these cheque very

early in the morning at 10:00 am these cheque kept in bank’s bag so we kept the all chuequ in bag before

the agent came. This agent was coming in the bank. This agent was taking two rounds in a day for cheque

collecting and giving of the other branch.it depends upon the state bank which cheque is clear and which

are not clear.

2.6 Summary of learning:

I am learn a lot of knowledge and also get a good experience from the banking sector. This is the hbl

mission to provide the all services to fulfill their needs. I also got a best thing that is more necessary in

our lives are kept everything in order for this your task will be easy to performed. The proper dressing

and behavior with the customer is most important thing while you operates a business. There will b

another thing that I have learned is the managing the profitable relation with the customer and try to not

l0ss a single customer.it is the good business all over the world and also in Pakistan but now in Pakistan

political instability stop the businessman to do the business in Pakistan .Because the state bank restrict the

rule and regulation on banking business because anyone not started a business of banks.

2.6.1 Skills and qualification:

I have learned different kinds of skills that are increased my knowledge as well the skill that I have

learned during the internship the most important thing is maintain the relation with customers, not lost

any customer of the organization when your close competitors existing in the market. I also learn about

the finance activities done in the banks. That is profitable for us in future either done the job in bank or

not .but this is necessary now this era that everyone should have knowledge about the bank activities

because in the future there will be fast operations of banks which also increase the risk factors.

2.6.2 Responsibility of me during internship period:

During the time of internship I performed a lot of tasks that are given to me by the supervisor of my

internee work. Because I have worked in the main branch of Habib bank limited in wazirabad and some

bank also done their transaction through the main branch of. soneri bank, chartered account bank, so

there chequre also verified by this branch and the other hand there are more number of employees came

for different tasks like pay utilities bill, deposits cash, deposits cheque, etc. So at this time the supervisor

give different task to perform like clear the cheque (cheque sign. Date, clearing stamp) and also some old

people came in the bank which want to draw the money from their account and these people cannot know

how to draw the cheque so I write the cheque. I have also fill the account opening form whenever the

customer want to open the account in HBL.

When the customer want to deposits money in their account or other person then I was also fill the

deposits slip and carbon copy give back to the customer and other kept in record on that slip I write the

name of account holder its account number, cash amount, and below this slip write the name of depositors

and write its phone number because if any problem occur with the account then we call the customer. I

performed all these tasks very well. I also checked the stamping that are putt on the cheque that are

received from the others branches.

2.6.3 Impact of internship on my career:

When I am working as a student then there will be the different situation because at this time I have a lot

of time for entertainment and other activities. But when we have go for the professional life then it will be

the different situation. The jobs of banking sectors are very busy you have a little bit time for you family.

Banking jobs are very hardworking because you have to be done every transaction very well, now

presently the technology increased but the other hand this technology system also increased risk

factors.thefore every task should be performed carefully in a bank jobs.

There is also problem in some families because they cannot want to do job in bank because they think

that the banking job are not good considered in Islamic point of view. That also disheart from banking

jobs.in bank you putt your all effort for good performance for saving jobs. A lot of pressure can bear

during the banking job.so these all things desheart to doing job in bank.

2.6.4Correlation between the class room and data and practical life:

Everyone know that class work and practical are different to eachother.most of the things are totally

different it depends upon the experience of the employees like in past when the technology system a little

bit used at this time the B.A person start their jobs in bank. Now this time that persons on the post of

manager. But present the technology increasing day by day so to enhance that technology every employee

should the knowledge of business to compete in market.so we are studied this subject in the institution to

success in the market. Communication skill that we are adopted from the class are very useful for us .i

know that there are some things which we are studied in the class that are communication, coordination

among the classmates. That are beneficially for us.in our degree program we have learn about the variety

of jobs that are helpful for us in practical life.

After the end of the internship report .I learned a lot of things that are necessary in lives during internship

also noted that the whole management and worker of Habib bank are coprateivley with their customer

because they know never lost a customer .this is main advantage this organization. The result is that hbl is

the leading bank in Pakistan among private banks. Habib bank and largest assets. The muzfarabd main

branch daily bases assets are above the 50 million on daily bases.these assets are the result of hbl

performance and more people prefer to open a account in HBL. Because there is a lot of competition

occurred between banks.in Kashmir because that area where hbl situated other banks main branches also

exist, like MCB, NBP, UBL.therefore there are more compition occurred between banks. Habib bank

network are increasing day by day.inother hand there is also many weakness of this organization that

there will no pointed a third person that restrict the employees in their work and result the employees

cannot work with efficiently.

The swot analysis of any organization describes the idea about the strengths weaknesses, opportunities

and threats that are probilities occur in future so the organization keep in mind about the future, so that if

there is a threat of the organization, make plans and policies to handle these threats . Similarly, if there

machines in most stable branch because every customer easy access to the bank for fulfill their needs

.because now technology increased day by day and mostly customer who opened a account have

knowledge about the ATM machines how used it.Provides more services than other competitors

3.1.2.4Threats:

The main threat for the banking sector in Pakistan is the instability of government because the

government implemented different taxes on the transaction that undesired the interest of customer.

Because now this previous year 1st july 2015 implement the tax on every transaction that are above the

50000 rs.in a day. Firstly this amount will be the 6% but after the strike of traders in Pakistan the

government decrease the tax and now presently is 3% of the each transaction that are above the

RS.50,000.

This is the main threats that creates problems for the banking sectors. Because that policy of government

demoralize the people interest towards banking transaction. From this policy a low level individual

mostly affect that already deducted tax from his salaries and other things

The analysis identify strengths and weaknesses in the technical management of the organization if no

organization analyzes the strengths and weaknesses then that is more serious problem for the bank that

may be occur in future . Analysis of all technical departments to identify strengths and weaknesses of the

organization and then develop the policies according to that analysis.

4. Recommendation:

I have learned and gained a lot of knowledge through practical work during internship. I have studied

about the Habib bank operations and activities. There is a opportunity for hbl limited to increases the

network with best strategies which adopted the technology. Hbl interest rate is low that is harmful for the

organization if compare to other banks because in markets their will some players that want only high

intrest rate. That affect its deposits in future.

There is also a lack of management that they do not utilizes its resources very well. The fresh graduates

should be hire because of new technology more of the employees worked in Habib banks over all are the

old age employees it is reality that experience employee more values but the other hand the values of the

new graduates are also very important for any organization. If the Habib bank combine the both the

young and experience employees that are more profitable for the organization.
