Our project is oriented on designing and solving the people’s problem of adult age, who suffer from

some painful disease in which they can’t push a rocking chair to relax.
According to our research there are many rocking chairs 's brands on the market, but not all meet
the desired specifications and in the end we have focused on a current Boston rocking chair.

Like simplicity, it is the mark of a good design in which the device must be safe and provide relaxing
movements.

The benefits offered by this automated rocking chair are:

Help relax
The balancing favors the release of endorphins so it is good for people with pain, depression
or anxiety
It helps tone the muscles of the legs in people of adult age.

Also:

Help babies calm down when they can’t sleep

It favors breastfeeding because he drinks with much more tranquility.

Feasibility

This mechanism is feasible since it will solve the problem and can be located inside the house in
thermal and humidity neutral conditions.

Design

It was based on a synthesis of mechanism in which it is based simply on Grashof's law, which is a
formula that is used to analyze the type of movement that the four-bar mechanism will do with only
knowing its dimensions and disposition.

In other words, in an articulated quadrilateral, at least one of its bars will act as a crank, in some of
the possible arrangements, if it is verified that the sum of the lengths of long and short bars is equal
to or less than the sum of the lengths of the other two.

Functionality
To check its functionality before building it, we used an engineering software called Working Model
that helped simulate its functionality in real time and thus avoid errors in its construction that can
lead to loss of time and generate additional costs.

We have also built a model to demonstrate the functionality of our project in which to automate
the chair is used a motor which operates the crank by means of a motor reducer automatically
swinging the chair
