Safety

This chapter mainly introduces the basic safety knowledge of operation of crusher, and
therefore it can not replace the safety procedures, safety measures and the local
government rules and regulations related to safety.

It is the responsibility of each operator to be familiar with and master the technical
requirements, preventive measures and accidents at the work-site and talk with
manager about such problems. In order to ensure the safety during the operation, all
the operators must have a good knowledge of safety rules and they need to be full
compliance with them.

Equipment operator safety depends on the careful operation and the master degree of
technology and performance of equipment.

Know about the performance of equipments

Reading this illustration can make you be familiar with the methods of operation,
maintenance essentials, production capacity and range of applications about crusher.
You need to be familiar with all controllers of equipment, alarms role, and note that the
"warning" parts. These devices will alert you to note that such as oil in the low-voltage,
high temperature, to continue to run equipment accidents will occur.

The inspection before the start of machine

The equipment which has not been prepared to operate is not a security device, when
take your turn on duty, you should carefully examine the machine, already found the
problem, and decided to "maintain the status quo," you had better think twice. Even
minor mechanical failure may result in personal injury and equipment accidents.

1. Does not allow unauthorized personnel on machine operation.

5. The pressure loss caused by low oil level can result in serious injury accident of
research components.

7. Definitely you can not obtain a higher operating pressure by adjusting the pressure
of safety valve, the recommended pressure by manufacturer is to ensure that
equipment in the most secure state owns the longest working life.

8. You can not tamper with safety devices.

 9. Thoroughly examine the visible fault, leakage, tube wear, loose parts, etc of crusher.

10. Check the equipment according to management positions manuals and

instructions.

11. Walk around the machine before you start, make sure there is nobody around the
machine. And you should remind the people around you that the machine is to be
started.

Safe start

1. Check the equipment in accordance with warning tag.

2. Start machine according to the instructions described in Chapter XI proceedings.

3. After breakers started, check all equipment, instruments, confirm that everything is
normal.

4 See an unusual reading, you should immediately stop machine.

5. Test all the functions of controllers.

6. Monitor and report any unusual noise.

7 Re-check the alarm or other warning devices and safety equipment.

8. Do not stand on supporting sleeve while crusher is running.

9. When the crusher is operating, do not put his hand on the spring, do not hold the
spring as well.

10 Don’t use faulty equipment by luck. You should report this faulty to the manager
immediately.

Warning signs

Before you enter into the inner part of crusher, be sure to hang out warning signs and
cut off the power controller, to avoid other people to start the crushing machine.

Cut off the electrical circuit

1. Before you proceed maintenance work in any form about crusher, be sure to cut off
all the electrical controller.

2. When you repair the hydraulic station, to be sure the pressure of hydraulic systems
has been unloaded.

3. To provide only one-person head and a key for each maintenance staff for personal
use.

Labor suit——safety protective measures

1 To make sure that your hands maintain a certain distance from the moving parts of
machine. Do not wear clothing with wide cuffs, do not let tie down, and do not wear
watches and bracelets.

2. When you are dealing with fuel, cleaning agents, lubricants, or brake fluid, you
should wear protective glasses.

3. If necessary, wear a mask.

4. When workers are drilling, grinding, or hammering metal, they should wear safety
glasses.

5. Do not take things in your pocket which may fall into the crusher.

6 If necessary, you should wear a helmet and safety shoes.

7. When workers change the wire rope, they should wear protective gloves.

8. In the use of high-pressure gas, the workers should wear protective glasses, wear
safety clothing.

9. In the pouring of molten metal (zinc alloy, Babbitt metal, lead and so on), the workers
should wear goggles and safety clothing.

10. If necessary, the workers should wear ear protection devices or reduce the time
that is the ears being exposed outside

Transmission protection devices

When crusher is being installed at the beginning, you should start to prepare
appropriate security measures. Crusher can use V-belt as its drive, also it can use

 direct drive coupling. Around belt drive or coupling should be set the protection
devices.

The pulley of crusher is specially designed as the maximum speed of its rim. If it
surpasses the maximum speed, the pulley may rupture and cause serious accidents or
personal injury.

The speed of crusher is critical to decide whether crusher can operate normally, there
is usually a small hole left for the installation of speed tables at the most of the belt
drive shaft end protection device, this may check the speed of drive shaft from time to
time. The application should be covered with an easy opening door or grille.

Platform

Breakers must be regularly checked and maintained. In order to ensure maintenance

staffs work the appropriate height, the work platform should be installed. Working
platform should be with handrails, pedal. There should be wire mesh or porous metal
mesh between handrail and footstep of the platform to prevent tools from falling on the
platform hurting the staffs on the ground. Platform shall not be set together with the
supporting sleeve, it is because when the foreign body passed through the crusher, the
entire supporting sleeve will be quickly lifted.

Cut off the power

No matter what the time is, as long as people are working on the crusher, the power
must be cut off. Each maintenance staff working on the crusher should have only one
key and one lock specially used for him. When he was working on the crusher, use his
own lock to lock it to the crusher electric control device. The key which is only one to
the lock must be stored in staff’s pocket and the staff is working on the machine. If
more than one staff is working on the crusher, everyone should have their own lock
and key are locked crusher control cabinet. And the people who are responsible for
many accidents, they start the crusher because they think that around the crusher it is
"security without incident."

Crane

Like the other machinery and equipment, if you want to use the crusher to obtain the
best economic benefits, the crusher should be maintained normally and regularly. For
most crushing machine, the extremely poor security is the use of illegal or unsafe lifting
crane with insufficient capacity. Although the crusher is not as sophisticated as the
engine rotating parts of car, but crushing machine parts are installed by using the crane
to lift and install. Crane should have characteristics of smooth and slow. When using
the crane, the crane must work under the rated load. Crane's rated load includes the
weight of safety hooks, pulley blocks, suspension (such as rope, spreader, etc.).
Remove the weight of these devices in order to determine the safety weight of crane.

crusher. And they are only used in ensuring the safe operation of circumstances

Truck Crane

When using truck crane, the crane must work within the rated load, to avoid the lifting
arm distortion or roll. Safety crane rated load use the work on a solid, level ground as a
precondition. Brackets should protract out to the outside as low as possible, and you
should avoid quick turn, quick enhance or sudden braking, otherwise it will create crane
overload. Do not hang a large heavy machine in the heavy winds.

Zinc alloy padding and epoxy paddingWhen replace fixed and movable plates of
the crusher, all the breakers, without exception, require some form of padding. Modern
developed epoxy padding metal will not appear splashing of the melt of metal, or for
the molten metal in contact with the wet surface to produce an explosion and burn staff.
Because of the high security of plastic padding and it is easy to use, so it is useful to
replace zinc alloy with epoxy.

When cut the fixed plate and movable plate which are using epoxy padding with the
welding method. The work site must have good ventilation, because epoxy fog makes
people sick, and it’s irritative to the human eye and skin.

Exclude foreign body iron

When extra-large foreign body which can not be crushed with the material enters into
the crusher, and being stuck in the crushing cavity, do not like dealing with spring cone
crusher, that is cleaning the storage and use of gas welding cutting, it is very
dangerous work. Before you read the related content about how to clean the crusher

to try to exclude the iron piece.

General maintenance work

The following content points out that, when the machine is working, what work must be
done, what the normal operating rules must be followed and implemented, and what
not to do:

1. You should not proceed maintenance work on the working machine. The
maintenance works include adding oil or greasing components to the operation of the
crusher.

2. During the operation crusher, you should not put your hands or feet on the spring of
crusher. When the crusher gets stuck by iron (that is overload), these spring breakers
will protected the normal working of crusher.

 3. You must maintain the equipments according to the maintenance cycle procedures
specified by the manufacturer. These procedures are not only to avoid damage to the
equipment, but also to avoid injury to the operator.

4. You should take practical measures to prevent the stone splashing around the
crusher, this is because there are large-sized rocks, pebbles and other causes in
crusher. The corkers working in the crushing post should make sure that no rocks
splashing around, because the stones splashing out will injure the persons who are not
prepared to pass by the machine.

When the crusher is on running, if you didn’t take protective measures for the splashing
material, you must not be allowed to watch into the crushing cavity.
