Title

Direct transient response to an internal pressure

Description

Find the peak displacement in a thick-walled cylinder resulting from a suddenly-applied

internal pressure load.
The 3-directions are constrained at the top and bottom of the cylinder. All nodes are
constrained in the θ-direction in the cylindrical coordinate.

The integration time step is chosen to be 1.0 microsecond. Approximately three cycles of
response were simulated and damping was neglected.
Note that for a single degree of freedom system, an instantaneously-applied load will give a
peak displacement of twice the static displacement.
