Burned Flag Outside Maxine Waters' Office
A former Navy SEAL slammed the counter-protesters who burned an American flag outside
Rep. Maxine Waters' (D-Calif.) Los Angeles office on Thursday.
Waters said the group of non-peaceful demonstrators, some of whom were not even mem-
bers of her district, gathered outside her office because of a planned protest by the far-right
group called the Oath Keepers.
The Oath Keepers did not show up, and counter-protesters instead decided to burn and
stomp on a flag in the street while shouting, “America was never great!”
Waters said in a statement that she does not agree with torching the stars and stripes but she
understands that the Constitution gives everyone the right to this form of free expres-
sion."The protesters are attempting to soil the Republican Party and the president. And what
they're really doing in effect is only soiling themselves," DeBono said.
"They're only bringing dishonor on themselves by doing what they're doing."
He added that he's seeing more and more people on the left resorting to tactics like this to
gain attention because they don't have a
message and don't want to engage in civil

"It's a desperate ploy, which is essentially

Scandal the Media is Largely Ignoring
The ongoing saga of the Hillary Clinton State Department security scandal
received little notice during Peter Strzok’s testimony in front of the House
committees. There is a smoing gun attached to all 30,000 of the Clinton State
Department emails. In his testimony it was revealed that every last one of
the Clinton emails had a mystery addressee. This means that some intruder
read ALL of her department’s emails that went through her private server.
What kind of damage control has been done? Who is being prosecuted? You
will be disappointed when you read this. Peter Strzok’s testimony about the
email server scandal involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton raised
headlines because of his defiant, disrespectful, and unapologetic attitude about
the bias revealed in his text messages that permeated his work at the FBI.
Then, there was the verbal combat between him and Republican members of the
two committees holding the joint hearing, and between the Republicans and De-
mocratic members who were running interference for Strzok and acting as his
defense counsel. The news media jumped on an exchange in which Rep. Louie
Gohmert, R-Texas, asked Strzok if he lied to his wife about his affair with former
FBI lawyer Lisa Page in the same way as he was in testifying to Congress. That
was too much for the Democrats and the media, who leaped to Strzok’s defense.
The media, however, virtually ignored another exchange between Gohmert and
Strzok that revealed a potential bombshell. Gohmert asked Strzok about his meet-
ing in 2016 with Frank Rucker and Janette McMillan, an investigator and law-
yer, respectively, for then-Intelligence Community Inspector General Chuck
McCullough (an Obama appointee). Documents released on Saturday related to
the wiretapping of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page reveal informa-
tion that contributed to the government’s application to monitor Page originated
with the State Department under the Obama administration in October 2016.
That detail may be particularly relevant since numerous officials from John
Kerry’s State Department have been fingered for playing roles in the distribution
– and in one case, possibly also the compilation – of the largely discredited, 35-
page anti-Trump dossier which focused in significant part on Page. Much of the
interaction between the State Department and the dossier author took place just
prior to the October 2016 date mentioned in the newly released Page documents.
Dossier author Christopher Steele, a former British spy, was commissioned to
produce the questionable document by the controversial Fusion GPS opposition
research firm, which was paid for its anti-Trump work by Hillary Clinton’s 2016
presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Working Yourself to Death: Long Hours Bring Risks
At 35, Jennifer was single and childless. She poured herself into her work. As a physical therapist who
also was director of the department at a hospital, she says she regularly put in 60 to 75 hours a week. “I
was always working,” she says. "I could avoid the emptiness in my life. I saw a full caseload of patients,
often more than those who worked for me," she says. She also attended meetings, coached staff, did
quality reviews and handled payroll and doctor relations. Then came the fallout. "My health effects were
significant," she says now. Her periods disappeared. She cracked a tooth from grinding her teeth, had she
had chronic abdominal pain and extreme fatigue.
She had been getting help for what she says were her other issues: excess alcohol use and overeating.
She noticed she wasn't making the progress that her colleagues in those 12-step programs were.
She Googled “workaholics,” found Workaholics Anonymous, joined, and began to change her habits.
That was 5 years ago. Her workweek now is calmer, saner, and capped at 40 hours. The rest of her life is
falling into place, too. "I'm now in a loving relationship; we've moved in together," she says.
Jennifer now practices self-care, makes time for a massage, yoga and the gym, and has let go of “the
obsession to talk about work,” she says.
The turning point? She says she realized that work addiction, like the other forms of addiction, can be
fatal. "If it doesn't kill me, it will keep me miserable the rest of my life," she says she realized.
Many people still look at long hour hours on the job as proof of their work ethic. Some historians trace the
work ethic to the Protestant Reformation in the 1500s, when working hard was thought to align with the
values of their faith. Americans who work full time log an average of 47 hours a week, according to a
2014 Gallup poll, and some, of course, put in many more hours.
While Americans like to pride themselves on being the hardest workers around, it’s not necessarily true,
according to global statistics from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Its 2014
report found that overall, Mexicans average 43 hours a week, compared with U.S. workers' 34.2 hours.
But in recent years, researchers have found that working long hours is linked with a variety of health
issues, as Jennifer discovered. (Abiding by Workaholics Anonymous policy, she gives only her first
name.) Among the ailments linked with long work hours are stroke, heart disease, mental health
problems, diabetes, and abnormal heart rhythms.
Experts don't agree on whether all workaholics, or workers who put in long hours, are cut from the same
cloth. They debate: Is it the long work hours or the mentality of the workers that affects health? Some say
those who work long hours by choice because they are “engaged” in work but not compulsive may escape
the health consequences. And some people, of course, must work long hours just to make ends meet. "The
research is overwhelming," he says. "In my mind, there is no question that work addiction is a compulsive
disorder. It kills people.
In Japan, they have a name for it: karoshi. It means death from overwork. "A true workaholic gets high
from the adrenaline and cortisol, and [without work,] they go through withdrawal," Robinson says. "We
are talking about working to the extreme," he says. "It's not just when you are in the office.
It's the inability to turn it off," such as thinking through a work problem while watching your kid's soccer
game. "A workaholic is someone who is on the ski slopes dreaming about being back in the office.
A healthy worker is someone in the office who dreams about being on the ski slopes."

Mad Maxine Waters Gets A Taste
of Her Own Medicine

Representative Maxine Waters has advocated loud and long
for those that oppose President Donald Trump to be in the
face of any of his supporters. She has advocated a level of
acrimony and disrespect that has not been seen on politics for
a very long time. To bad for her, that has had a boomerang
effect and now she is whining about the treatment that she is
receiving that is the same as she wanted dealt out. Do you feel
sorry for her?
Remember when Maxine Waters was saying that activists should
haunt the steps of every person associated with the Trump
administration and let them know they were “not welcome” in
polite society? Well, the shoe is on the other foot now and the
congresswoman isn’t very pleased. Oath Keepers has announced
that they will be protesting Waters at her Los Angeles
congressional office and she’s issuing a warning to her
supporters to stay away from the dangerous “gun nuts” who will
probably start a war or something.
Rep. Maxine Waters warned supporters on Wednesday of
potential “armed protests” against her after an extremist group
called for ongoing demonstrations outside her office in Los
Angeles.

the Oath Keepers are planning and the liberal tactics Maxine
Waters has publicly endorsed.
Conversely, Waters specifically endorsed tracking and chasing
down members of the Trump administration when they went out
for a meal, to go shopping, at their homes and in every other
moment of private time they have outside of their government
jobs. That’s not a political protest. It’s harassment.
Deciding to “warn” constituents that the Oath Keepers are there
looking for an armed confrontation is, of course, over the top.
I’ll grant you that Stewart Rhodes goes way over the top in
terms of his rhetoric at times, but the group’s record has been
greatly overblown in liberal panic rooms.
The SPLC defines them as a hate group (of course, I think they
said that about the Boy Scouts too), but actual incidents of open
warfare and violence by the group are strictly vaporware.
The LAPD is going to be on hand when the Oath Keepers arrive
so it should be an interesting scene. As usual, we’ll be keeping
an eye out to determine if the group actually starts any physical
confrontations or if it’s the “counter-protesters” who throw the
first punches.

A 4-year-old girl from Lancashire, England, could have died after her skull was almost
crushed by a "devil dog" which savaged her while she played in a friend's garden.
Little Tillie was mauled by a cross-breed dog while playing at a pal's house and was taken to
Lancashire's Royal Preston Hospital with horrific facial and head injuries. While schoolgirl
Tillie recovers in the hospital following the shocking attack last Sunday, her best friend
Halle Wilson, also 4, is doing her best to cheer her up. Halle, who is a keen hiker, is
preparing to climb 2,015 feet to raise money to give Tillie some new toys to help put a smile
on her face.
Halle's mother, Carly Wilson, 28, said: "I can't imagine what poor Tillie is going through.
You just don't ever expect that to happen, she will
probably be left with possibly emotionally and physically
scars for life.
"Halle was obviously really upset when she found out
what happened to her friend and came home and said she
wanted to raise some money to buy her some toys.
"I am so proud of Halle, she is still only young but she
really wanted to do something to help Tillie and try and
bring her some joy."
"Halle loves hiking and climbing and she's fully
equipped," Wilson said. "We go on walking breaks a lot
and she's always leaving me lagging behind, she's always
shouting at me to hurry up.
"We wish Tillie a speedy recovery and just hope to bring her a little bit of joy after such an

of you who like to assume that your dog is ‘nice’ to everyone.
We have several “dog-friendly” - “no leash” parks around. I frequent most of them
often, as Kemba and I can find the time to enjoy watching her be with her own type.

Point being, is that these are animals with natural instincts bred inside each of them.
As an owner and care-taker of any sized animal, you have expectations from other dog
owners that need to be recognized. Keep ‘control’ of your animal. No matter what!
If you know your dog is ‘wild & crazy’ acting, do not come to a no-leash park and sit
back as you watch your animal disrupt the peace from well behaved, trained dogs.
Do NOT expect other animals to tolerate their wild behaviors, especially from any
owner who witnesses the actions from an untamed dog. Those of us who have been
around animals most of their lives, can sense the look from a trouble-maker. Even most
humans too.

Endangered Species Act, the 1973 law credited with saving dozens of animals and plants.
These include such icons as bald eagles, grizzly bears, and Florida manatees, and other spe-
cies that many of us have never heard of—such as the Hidden Lake bluecurl, a small plant
with delicate blue flowers that grows along a single lake in the San Jacinto Mountains of
southern California. Earlier this month the bluecurl became the latest of dozens of species to
be officially taken off the list, because officials determined that its population had recovered

million acres of arid sagebrush steppe in the American West, and it has never been listed as
endangered—even though its population is now thought to be less than 10 percent of what it
was in the 19th century. But the sage grouse, and the sagebrush ecosystem it depends on, has
still been protected by the ESA. It was the threat of an ESA listing that drove state and fed-
eral officials and Western landowners to negotiate an historic compromise in 2015. Under
that agreement, states and landowners and energy companies agreed to protect key bird habi-
tat—and the federal government agreed not to list the bird, which might have forced far more
drastic restrictions on development. Meanwhile in Congress, Republican lawmakers have
introduced more than two dozen bills over the last two weeks that would change the enforce-
ment of the act. These bills would, among other things, remove federal protections for gray
wolves in several areas, de-list the American burying beetle, whose presence in many oil-rich
areas presents an impediment to drilling, and prevent grizzlies from being reintroduced into
parts of Washington state. Lawmakers say these changes are necessary to modernize the act
and avoid over-restrictive rules, although a 2015 scientific analysis of the law suggests that it
has essentially never out-right prevented development.
