CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

Company Background
Indonesia is rich of food and drinks as the heritage from the ancestors.
Solo is known as city which has been familiar with the traditional cuisine for
local and foreign tourists. The origin of food and drink from Solo does not
contaminate with the flavor of modern food and drink from another countries.
One of herb beverage from Solo is “beras kencur (Rice and aromatic ginger
drink) which has many benefits like prevent colds, increase the appetite, prevent
ulcers, helps relieve fatigue, improving menstrual cycle, remove phlegm and
expectorant, relieves dizziness, , keep warm and keep the immune system.
Along with civilization, traditional drinks like rice and aromatic ginger
drink starts being left by some modern people, especially the young generation
and it has been replaced by soft drinks or supplements that promises of pleasure
and efficacy. They forget that our traditional herb drinks will give more benefits
and it is healthier . Rice and aromatic ginger drink is healthier because it is made
of high quality traditional herbs from Indonesia .Based on the benefits of rice and
aromatic ginger drink, I have desire to make it as the business.

Vision & Mission
Vision:
 To introduce traditional drink from solo to the public.
 To maintain traditional drink in order not to be altered by modern drinks
either from local and abroad.
 To maintain public health in particular and all Indonesian people in
general.
Mission:
 To select high quality origin ingredients from Indonesia.
 To introduce the production process of the traditional drink.
 To maintain flavor drinks traditional and also the quality properties of
rice and aromatic ginger.
 To maintain hygiene of the traditional drink and the image that the herb
drink is not sterile.

BUSINESS ANALYSIS
1. Product Plans
Our products are traditional herb drink products, and our products are
nutritious and it can be served quickly. The main materials that we use are rice,
brown sugar, aromatic ginger, ginger, fenugreek (kelabet), cardamom
(kapulaga) and water.
The reason why our company was established because of seeing the
high level of the desire of the public to the herb drink especially rice and
aromatic ginger drink. Our capital is about Rp. 1,500,000.

The specialty of this herb drink are :
1. To prevent colds, increase the appetite, prevent ulcers, helps relieve

1. Type of Business
Selling traditional delicious and nutritious herb drinks large and
small sizes. With the price of per pack is Rp 7000.00 and Rp 1000.00

Our business is established as small businesses and for all level of
society so they can consume this drink product. The level of competition for
this type of this traditional drink has not been competitive , but the
enthusiasm of the society desire for this product increases more and more.
CHAPTER V
PRODUCTION PLAN

Our production plan is to make 800 bottles until 1000 cups a month.
The Materials needed and how to make the herb drink (Rice and aromatic ginger
drink)
 Rice
 Brown sugar
 Aromatic ginger
 Ginger
 Fenugreek (kelabet)
 Cardamom (kapulaga)
 Water

Directions:
 Clean the rice and drain. Roasted and then soak in boiling water for 2 hours
 Roasted ginger and aromatic ginger, remove and set aside
 Mix the soaked rice, ginger and aromatic ginger that have been toasted,
fenugreek (kelabet), and cardamom
 Boil sugar in a water together until sugar dissolves and boil to make a sugar
water
 Mix the aromatic ginger, rice with sugar water, stir well and strain. The herb
drink is ready to be served. It can be served warm or cold

Each activity to start a business must be measured by environmental
capabilities through SWOT analysis.

• Online Media : we also market our products through the Internet and other
social media

The marketing of the products are sold in food store, traditional markets, and
in several supermarkets in Solo.

1. The area that we have to target is the region of Surakarta and surrounding
areas, the reason we choose this location because the herb drink is one of
the traditional drink from Solo. Besides the materials to make this product
is very easy to find in this area.
2. We see many business opportunities on a unique culinary Solo as the
target of the tourists, so we take advantage of this opportunity.

The cost of Rp1,098,000.00 per bottle: 200 bottles = Rp 5490.00

The selling price per bottle of rice kencur is:


= HPP + (Profit 20%)
= Rp 5.490 + (20% x 5.490)
= Rp 1.098 + Rp 5.490
= Rp 6.588

3. Selling Price
Prices deposit to our company every pack is Rp 6.580. While the retail
price in the store average is Rp 7.000

RISK

Risks and Risk Reduction Efforts During these manufacturers use high
quality materials the prices charged for 1 packet of the product is relatively
expensive, it is intended to cover expenses for the purchase of raw materials. If
manufacturers change the raw materials with the low quality of product, the taste
and quality of the product will decrease, and the possibility of consumers with
these conditions will decrease the consumption of our production. So
manufacturers will take the middle ground by replacing raw materials at a cheaper
price to compete with the quality of the raw material before.

CHAPTER X
CONCLUSION

The rice and Aromatic ginger drink is a unique drink, made in a simple
way but it produces a delicious taste and make healthy body. The product has
many features of which have many variations in size, thus making the customers
are eager to buy it again. Our effort is very promising business because it will
produce high profit. But the entrepreneur must have the ability to view a SWOT
analysis so that they can grow their businesses smoothly. To avoid the production
failures, an entrepreneur should plan effort as possible in order business is
expanding rapidly. In addition we will continue to innovate in order to keep our
consumers as subcribers and our efforts remain to be victory.
