Celebrating
the 4th
of July Since this was my first
poker run I had a lot to
learn. A donation is given
to receive a form with
locations of bars along the
rivers and bayous of the
area. Groups can travel
by land or by boat to the
locations. Participants are
to get a confirmation mark
at each location and return
Owners of Thunder Bayou,
to the boat club by Nick & Brooke with Bully
4 o’clock. Each participant
turned in their form which
determines how many
cards they get and the
person making the best
poker hand wins the grand
prize. Also throughout the
day their is a 50/50 raffle
to help raise more money.
Brigitte and I had shown
up without a boat and it
took her only a few
inquires and we secured a
ride on a pontoon boat
captained by Santa Claus
himself. Actually it was
Derwin and his wife Lisa.
We dodged rain all day
but for the most part it was
clear and hot.
Our first stop was Canal
Bank. Canal Bank
historically has been a go
to spot for weekend
boaters and dancers. After
a short visit we headed to
