MP10 Minutes: Meeting Week 18

Approval of  Went through the actions for a specific task on the last meeting Muhammad

Project Hovercraft steering system & obstacle avoidance system Mohammad


progress  Steering system which consists of sensors, side motors and Faiz Mohd
rudder has been assembled. Zaki &
 A demonstration video was shown during the meeting. Muhammad
 Need more sensors because there was a problem when Syafiq Sufi
avoiding obstacle as the current sensors could not provide Othman
enough detection.
 Need a replacement for one of the sensors since there was
some faulty.
 Need to check whether the 5V supply from the Arduino is
consistent or not because it may affect the sensors
performance.

 Add 3 more sensors to the hovercraft.

Battery monitoring system Muhammad


1. Showed the waveforms obtained to Mr Ken and Dr Milijana. Asyraf Abdul
2. Need to know how the drive circuit of the motor look like. Jalil
3. Waveforms look really noisy and need to consider any
interference from other things like mobile phone signals.
4. Need to know what signal were sent and why.
5. Waveforms look unusual.
6. Need improvement on the way of taking measurements by
using the oscilloscope.

Navigation system Muhammad


1. Made improvement to the GPS GSM and Magnetometer. Farhan Rifaie
2. There was a problem when combining GPS and Raduan
Magnetometer which probably caused by mixing of library.
3. But a few changes were done to the code and correct results
were obtained.
4. Heading angle, initial coordinates, final coordinates and the
distance between two coordinates successfully send to the
phone.

 Combine the navigation system with the control system.

Any other  Could design a circuit board to properly arrange everything on All
business the hovercraft.
 Make sure the battery does not block the airflow.
 Logbook need to be assessed next meeting.
