 EXPLANATORY NOTES

1. The aims of the summer practice for the 5 year are
focused on the student’s developing of the
elementary practice skills in Internal Medicine and
Surgery.
2. The standard of knowledge is minimal and
compulsory.
3. It is recommended that the practice may be
made in medical, surgical or emergency services.
4. The practice will be carried on under the supervision
of a specialist or medical doctor who will certify
that by signature and stamp.
5. The practice training will be evaluated by a
commission named by the Dean’s Office of the
Faculty of Medicine, during September 10nd -11th,
2018.
6. The student who does not submit the summer
practice paper according to the procedure, until

Practice Standard
1. Medical/Surgical hands washing with water and soap /
disinfectant soap. Hands washing with alcoholic solutions.
2. Patient monitoring (temperature, pulse, breathing, diuresis, stool,
vomiting, sputum).
3. Administration of parenteral therapy (intramuscular,
subcutaneous, intravenous) specific to the hospital ward/medical
service where the medical practicum is being carried out.
4. Wound decontamination, suture and dressing.
5. Performs the anamnesis and objective clinical examination of
patients admitted in the hospital ward/medical service.
6. Recognizes the main types of medical-surgical emergencies in
patients admitted in the hospital ward/medical service.
7. Presents the presumptive diagnoses to the coordinator and
recommends paraclinical investigations for patients admitted.
8. Presents to the coordinator the suggested therapeutic plans for
patients admitted in the hospital.
9. Drafting a medical prescription.
10. Communication with the patient regarding the effects of
medication.
11. Cardio-respiratory resuscitation.
