Conclusion

The use of mistress in Filipino Movies should be demolished because it can change the

popular culture, ethics, and moral values of the Filipino society. Filipino movies should be a tool

to change the mindset of the Filipinos on the concept of monogamy and fidelity. This is the time

to create movies that promotes strong family, brotherhood, and the strong bond of Filipino

families. Knowing that our pre-colonial society, protects and nurtures the family we must not

follow the standards of the western world.

The Use of Mistresses in Filipino Movies

This argumentative paper focuses on the use of mistresses in Filipino movies. A lot of

mainstream movies were using this kind of theme and although many people were against it. But

since the big movie industry is using the concept desensitization, the society is little by little

accepting this theme. This paper focuses on the pros and cons of this theme in movies because of

its effects in the Filipino society primarily the concept of family.

The use of this theme can serve as an eye opener to the society. This claims that because

of the films having the themes of mistresses, it will serve as a mirror of the society to the people.

Knowing that it has a negative impact to the children and to the family as a whole, it will change

the concept of the people regarding this matter. It creates a consciousness to the people that they

should not engage in this form of relationship because it can destroy one’s family and will have a

longer effect on their children. Lastly, it will give moral lessons to those who were already

engaging in this kind of relationship that who will be really to be destroyed will be the mistress

not the man. These are the reasons why film industries use this kind of theme in their movies.

There are certain problem regarding the use of this theme on Filipino movies. Because it

changes the moral values of the society. There is an acceptance being promulgated in the society

regarding mistresses, that there is no wrong in loving. Which is another problem because it changes

the concept of love to the Filipinos, before love is a commitment being taught to the youth, now

love is a commitment as long as it is perfect. The sacrificial love is being desensitized to pleasure

love. Love in the society is not anymore in its purest essence. Lastly, the concept of monogamy is
being destroyed. Because of this, our nation may approve the divorce bill because according to the

films involving mistresses we can change partners. That is the problem, it changes the purest

essence of marriage that it is a lifelong commitment, it is not a commitment that is as long as it is

fun.

With these, I therefore conclude that the use of mistress in Filipino Movies should
