ABSTRACT

This study sought to determine the perceived effects of pornography among Third Year Yu-An
Log College of Business and Accountancy students at the University of St. La Salle for the
academic year 2017-2018. Using a descriptive research design, this study involved forty college
students both male and female who were randomly selected to participate in the survey. Findings
revealed that a majority of the respondents attributed pornography to interfere with their personal
faith and spirituality as the top effect and lesser teenage pregnancy as the least effect. Other factors
such as curiosity, self-pressure and entertainment have led students to be exposed in pornography.
Overall, data suggested that the Internet played a dominant role in the wide spread of pornography
viewing. Thus, it is recommended that students who are engaged in pornography viewing be
guided by the school administration and by their parents to prevent them from the possible effects
of pornography in their well-being.
