SYNOPSIS OF CHEAT

Lynne Webbings, has an internal conflict after losing the Holmes - Watkins Medal for short story writing
to Geoff Bolder. Intially, she was tense and impatient while waiting for Mr Velos to announce the result
Geoff realised that Lynne was very disappointed and jokes about how the winner was chosen Lynne
temporarily felt better, but then discovered that Geoff had 'stolen' the plot and main character of his
short story from a tale by Wiliam Bradburie, a famous author. She considered telling Mr Velos, the
principal that Geoff had cheated. Then, she was called into the principal's office. Mr Velos told her that
Geoff wanted to be disqualified even though he technically did not cheat. Geoff even apologized to
Lynne after their meeting with principal. In the end, Lynne got the medal she wanted to much, but she
did not feel good about it.
