1. To consolidate how many edges and corners a circle, square, triangle and rectangle.
2. To be able to count how many of each shape they have used
To successfully count how many shapes used within their pizza as well as count the
total of edges and corners contained on their pizza.
The students have been taught two lessons previous to this one, based around
these 4 shapes. They should recall the names of the shapes as well as the amount of
edges and corners they contain. It is expected that most students will be able to
state this information throughout this activity.

I will be explaining the
activity to begin with. I will
model this for them to
ensure they understand
exactly what is expected of
them. I will be correcting
the students work as they
are completing the task
and when they are
finished. This is to ensure
they are staying on task.
Then students will be 25 minutes
completeing a shape pizza.
They will get a paper plate
and colour it red for the
tomato base of the pizza.
They will then be provided
with squares, triangles,
rectangles and circles to
stick onto their pizza
which will be the
‘toppings’. Once the
students have completed
this they will then
complete a worksheet
about the shapes. It asks
 the students to count how
many of each shape was on
their pizza and then they
will be asked how many
edges and corners the
shapes have.

Conclusion
Students will walk around 5 minutes.
