Reflection- Site Visit

Going into the site at Pueblo de Oro I was very excited because it was my
first time going into an activity that is connected to my dream job and it is very
fulfilling to learn from professionals who have the experience that can help us
in order to follow their footsteps. When I reached the site together with some of
my block mates I amazed on how the workers worked together even though
it’s very hot and just imagine that they work almost everyday. While waiting for
the whole class to be completed and start the tour at the site I was already
expecting that it would not be that easy for us because of the weather, it’s very
hot at that time and the area was very wide and we need to explore the whole
place but the experience was worth it because I learned a lot from the basics
and also life lessons from the engineers who guided us the whole time.

I definitely learned a lot from Engineer Joe/Jai and the two other engineers
and some of these are; that more or less 200 workers is not yet enough to
make things easy for the whole group, even if their are heavy rains or other
calamities that might cause them not to work for that day they should still finish
the job within the given period which is one year, they started May 21,2018 so
it is expected that the project is finish by 21of May next year, I also learned the
basic about the concrete covering (tight beams) should be at least 70mm, also
the phinolic board that are used are 4x8 in size and a lot more. They also
shared some of their experiences specifically on how to handle challenges.
One of those and will be forever be my reminder to continue pursuing and
keep pushing on was the line from one of the engineer “bisan unsa ka lisod
never give up kay sa una ra ang kalisod maanad rata and dli kailangan smart
or talented basta you have the passion and love sa imong gina buhat”. It’s just
so inspiring knowing that those successful men also encountered hardships in
life but they still continued to reach their dreams and look at them now they
have reached their destination in life.

The site visit activity was a great experience for us especially for us
freshmen who are still in the process of adjusting in the college life with all the
stress coming from academic requirements and other extra curricular activities
this activity reminded me that nothing is impossible when you just continue to
believe and continue to work.
