Starting Your New Machine Docking and Undocking: Dell D610 Laptop

Power Management Tips


ß Connect the computer to an electrical outlet when possible — battery life is largely
determined by the number of times the battery is charged.

ß Place the computer in standby mode when you leave the computer unattended for long
periods of time.

ß You can use the Power Management Wizard to configure the computer to enter or
exit power management modes by pressing the power button, closing the display, or
pressing <Fn><Esc>.

will re-start and you will be prompted to select which recent snapshot to restore. You should
select the most recent date that you believe the system was in good working order. If you
don’t select a snapshot within 30 seconds, the most recent will be automatically selected.

Windows XP provides two “sleep” modes. You can use the Dell Quickset utility to set
options for sleep modes. However, the “Enable hibernation support” check box has no Dial-tone Settings
